Unfortunately, I doubt we will have heard the last of this asshole.

I still wanna hear about his security clearance that was SO much bigger than President Obama's.

Good riddance to bad rubbish in the meantime, though! Have they counted this in the overall House numbers? Anybody know if this makes the GOP totals drop by another one? I'd heard that the Democratic House seat gains had gone from eight seats to ten. Wondering if this was among those already counted, since he did show up at the freshman sessions.

Love this post! True enough. We didn't just "dodge a bullet."

I don't even want to think about the wreckage and other kinds of "creative destruction" they had in mind to institute on Day One.

Every word of your post is absolute gold-pressed latinum, Ineeda! We can NEVER let down our guard. I'm really sorry to have to say this, but we would do well ALWAYS to be suspicious of their motives. Unfortunately, that has to be our default position when dealing with these folks. Always suspect something first. I'm sorry - with this bunch it's Guilty-Til-Proven-Innocent. There is always some ulterior motive and for them it's always all about winning. So they can institute their reckless selfish greedy short-sighted "policies" and tear down the New Deal. Hell, they'd take us all the way back to the Bronze Age if they could, although they'd have a pretty hard time getting Pox Noise or tuning into lamebaugh if they succeeded!

They want power back. They want the White House back. And they will not stop til they win. Which is why we cannot stop, either. I, too, have been kind of on bliss-out mode since last Election Night. For me it's been quietly savoring what feels an awful lot like payback, or karma, or something, for the way we were kicked in the teeth in 2000 and 2004. The way we were kicked in the teeth about the war in Iraq. The way we were kicked in the teeth about the phony-ass WMD - that we all KNEW was ALL phony and were ignored when we tried to spread the truth.

If we want to keep them stopped, then WE can't stop for even a split-nanosecond! As Mad-Eye Moody always warned Harry Potter: "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!!!!" The bad guys won't stop. So we can't afford to.

Hey, I don't have any dog in this fight either (well, except a belief in representative democracy)

but I agree - it is believable. Stranger things have happened. And consider the principals involved. Two words, alone, do it for me: kkkarl rove. If he's anywhere within five miles of it, there's reason to be suspicious. Or at least raise your antennae up as high as possible and turn up the sensitivity WAY past eleven.

Also - remember that Ohio Secretary of State adding these little software "patches" to certain selected electronic voting devices?

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/lawsuit-filed-nov5th-against-john-husted-r-secstate-of-ohio/question-3303541/

Full disclosure here - I have almost nothing to disclose, fully or partially. My knowledge of cyper-stuff could fit on one of those little capacitor (or resistor?) thingies with a wire coming out of each end. And I do not know anything about the ins and outs of computer programming and installation and apps and all that. Complete idiot/dunce/technophobe. But what I AM good at is observing and interpreting human behavior and sniffing out a rat. Two rats in this case. Ohio's scheming, agenda-driven, judge-defying Secretary of State jon husted AND kkkarl rove. Shades of kenneth blackwell. What is it about these Ohio Secretaries of State???? If they're republi-CON, it seems, they're severely-partisan crooks! Same thing for katherine harris in Florida 12 years ago.

There's something a bit fishy swimming around somewhere in here. Makes me wonder if there's anything to that Anonymous story about their hacking the wrongney campaign's ORCA program. Again, just look at the players - and rove's behavior on Pox Noise on Election Night. He damn near stopped the show when Pox called Ohio for Obama. He was SOOOOO sure. I suppose it could have been mainly because of "the math" inside their own little alternate-reality bubble. But whenever rove's involved, there tend to be Political Dark Arts involved in some way. His hands are NOT clean.

That was an utter disgrace!

I don't know what pissed me off more - that there were pigs in that audience who had the gall to boo a soldier IN THE ACTUAL FIELD OF BATTLE at that very moment, putting his life on the line in harms way at that very moment, simply because he was gay, OR that those worthless pieces of shit on the stage just stood there like so many steaming piles, and said NOTHING. NOT ONE of them, wrongney, gingrich, santorum, bachmann, rick perry, herman caine, not ONE of them spoke up and scolded the audience for its unpatriotic lack of respect. NOT ONE. NOT ONE!!!!! Oh heaven forbid we step forward and make any waves with the precious fucking teabaggers. And a nice little crowd of chickenhawks up on that stage, at that. Pretty chickenhawks all in a row. I bet NOT ONE of them ever served.

Every one of those worthless bums up on that stage proved himself or herself totally and absolutely UNFIT to be Commander-in-Chief at that moment. They stood there in utter silence while those yahoos in the audience were booing that soldier. So impressed (NOT!!!!!) with the type of crowd these candidates attracted. The "let 'em DIE!" crowd. The cheer-all-those-executions crowd. The boo-a-soldier-on-active-duty-in-a-war-zone crowd. UNWORTHY. TOTALLY AND ABSOLUTELY UNWORTHY. They just disgraced themselves that night, in my opinion. The whole disgusting lineup of them.

That was a national disgrace. What's that old saying - "by thy friends art thou known"? That night, I saw a totally repulsive, treasonous, disgusting crowd of so-called people I don't want ANY part of.

Welcome to DU, montex!

No kidding. That's one of the most astounding little factoids of this campaign. Too bad she wasn't completely hosed outta there. Unfortunately she gets to return to her job on Capitol Hill. What are those constituents THINKING???????

Glad you're here. Maybe you can help us figure that out...

Welcome to DU, joseph abbott!

Couldn't agree more! So far, he's come out swinging. He DOES have a mandate, and it's up to us to have his back. Glad you're here! Now might be a good time for us to start calling Capitol Hill and weighing in with your congresscritter. Not now specifically - it's Saturday evening. But next week the switchboard will be open at least through the early part of the week. Make sure they're aware, friend OR foe, that WE are there and WE are the ones who WON THE ELECTION. So they better take what WE want very seriously. WE rule. They didn't get a mandate of any sort. They're lucky they held onto the House and we didn't do better than we did. But we STILL main inroads and gained ground and we need to make sure they don't forget it.

'Cause if they think we don't care, they won't, either.

November 18, 2012

Sounds like it's getting to be that time...

Time to start calling Capitol Hill again, and storm the switchboards! If your congresscritter is a republi-CON, so much the better! They need to be reminded that the party that WON THE ELECTION is well-represented even in his/her district, and WE WILL NOT BE DENIED. Imagine this - you think the teabaggers are giving you a headache, how 'bout the team that WON THE ELECTION coming atcha, too, 'eh? And here are OUR demands. If you have a Dem, it never hurts to remind him/her that showing, and making use of, backbone is mandatory in their jobs as our reps. And you as a constituent and taxpayer expect to see some!

Welcome to DU, brokechris!

It's pretty bad when sarah palin thinks you're vacant upstairs. MAN. This is such a staggeringly profound come-down. Icarus plunging back to earth. It makes me think of the fall of richard nixon. His parting speech before he climbed into Marine One for the last time included the comment (paraphrasing a little here) "it's only when you've sunk into the deepest valley that you can really appreciate standing on the highest mountain." Somehow I wonder if perhaps this is one of the few defeats or embarrassments or losses he's ever experienced.

Consider:
His behavior suggests that he's had it just almost completely nonstop GOLDEN throughout his life. He was born with a card deck filled with aces, and all the faces. Including the life of a powerful and illustrious CEO's and governor's kid, blue-chip prep school, rising in rank in the Mormon Church, the accident he survived (in Paris, no less), the much-coveted pretty girl he landed, the five healthy sons he sired (that kind of thing can help foster a "cock-o'-the-walk complex" and can make a guy feel pretty damn virile), the way he avoided Vietnam, scoring in big business, more business, the Olympics, even more business, slick tricks with tax manipulation and never got caught, winning a state governorship. His life was pretty much a series of grand slams, with triumph after win after conquest - until now. This may be it, other than the other couple of times he ran unsuccessfully for office.

I think romney's thing may boil down to one simple concept: Asserting Dominance. Certainly accumulated his share of titles - CEO, Governor, Chairman, Bishop, Owner, Principle Stockholder, etc. Lots of Alpha Male assertion. If he were a dog, he'd be the one peeing on everything, relentlessly establishing his territory. After you've been all those things and then gone as far as Governor, there are few mountaintops worthy of you anymore. I mean, what's left? I suspect mitt figured it was his turn to be the Ultimate Alpha Male. Especially with a father who tried and failed. WOW! Think of the bragging rights! You'd be the Ultimate Alpha Male, not just in the USA but especially in your family. If george the dunce could do it, why not him, after all? Because he surely was smarter and had more money than dubya.

I think mitt is just not used to losing because it simply hasn't darkened his path all that often. Perhaps that's why he's been acting out so badly since the election. As so many bloggers and writers and posters are wording it: "America dodged a bullet."

Glad you're here. Let's all help to make sure that his kind of mindset NEVER gets into the White House.

Welcome to DU, NeeDeep!

Wow - so many new DUers (or members with low post-counts)! This is VERY cool! Glad to have you here - you're sharing in some mighty hard-earned good times! I'm surprised at how many articles I've read that all come under the heading of "Good Riddance romney"! It feels good to make history. Again! And the profound sense of relief feels even better!

Welcome to DU, Liberal In Red State!

Glad you're here! His favorability numbers were always low. Consistently throughout the campaign, especially against Obama. The President beat mitt even during Obama's own shakier times.

What always annoyed me was this straining to press the case for false equivalence. There was a long span of time where CNN was describing one particular Obama lead of 48-40 as "neck and neck." WTF??? The media was bending over triple-backwards trying to portray this election as a dead heat. So misleading for almost the whole length of the campaign! It was such a loud, constant drumbeat that people here were freaking out. I should know - I certainly was one of them! I spent most of the campaign in a low-grade panic. Before the primary debate season even got halfway through, I was talking to myself every time I went out to walk the dog! I've been a tightly contained nervous wreck for more than a year!

Good Heavens! Is this what they call "pretzel logic"? Media relentlessly giving the benefit of the doubt to the wrong wing? As I observed through month after month of the campaign, it was damn near infuriating.
