And even the Pope has now weighed in, further.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014718224#post4

Mighty encouraging to see a Pope actually doing what a Pope is supposed to do: advocate for Christ's message. And Christ's message was mainly about the poor - at least from everything I learned in 14 years at Catholic school.

Man - ask a question and none other than the Pope himself sends an answer...

Amen!

It's SOOOOOOO wonderful to have a Pope who's crusading for THIS. Finally we have a Pope who seems interested in putting the true message of Our Lord in front of people's faces for a change. Nobody else has advocated for the poor as he has, and nobody's pointed the finger squarely at capitalism's excesses and deep-down fundamental unfairness. THIS is what a Pope should always be about. Because that's what I learned that Jesus was about all the time. All the many many many messages and stories and parables in the New Testament about the poor. And there is NOTHING in there about homosexuality or abortion or anything upon which the wrong-wingers obsess nonstop.

Agreed. SoCalDem makes some very good points.

The rich have options. Money can buy options and lots of wiggle-room. Private counseling, private schools, private tutors, more than one home at a time (you don't have a lot of spousal knock-down/drag-out fights when there's the house in the Hamptons and the loft in midtown Manhattan, or the house in the city and the cabin out at the lake-resort - that allow Mom and Dad their separate quarters to cool off rather than beating up on each other).

And of course what we simply HAVE TO do is go for that wonderful austerity and get rid of that dumb ol' safety net that just costs more tax money! And after all, NOBODY wants to pay taxes...

Or so they have time to shred all the documents?

Wondering what's kept them all from wanting to "clean house" a little, in anticipation of having to cough stuff up later? I'm no legal expert here. But seems to me there's been plenty of time to shred papers and destroy anything that might be compromising since this started blowing up late last year - up til subpoenas were issued just a few weeks ago.

Anybody here have expertise on this?

Impressive little one!

Anala! Absolutely remarkable!!! You ROCK, sweetie!!!

Dang - that's a good question, valerief!

Made me stop and think. Indeed - how are they different? I'd like to hear what others here have to say about it. The odd fact appears to be that the statement in your title is true. Or is it that such a thing does happen frequently but doesn't get reported? You have me really kicking this one around in my head a lot at the moment. How are they different? What about them makes them different like that? If we could understand that better, maybe we could come up with other ideas - for ways to deal with the people doing the murdering.

I have wondered about that since the day it happened.

His "departure" was just AWFULLY convenient. Came at an INCREDIBLY convenient time when he about to start facing all sorts of serious legal and criminal shit. Seemed VERY fishy to me... how timely his "death" came. Hmmmmm... one helluva way to beat the rap, 'eh?

Same here.

Wonder if this is a signpost of some sort...

Needs to be watched. Now if jamie dimon does it too...

Sheesh - I guess I really do side with the one percent.

"In the U.S., the richest 30 individuals own about $792 billion, while the bottom half of Americans own 1.1 percent of our country's wealth, also about $792 billion. That's 30 people owning as much as 157,000,000 people."

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
