About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Yeah. And indeed there was an active shooter at YouTube headquarters.

Just today. Hope they're happy. Hey, NRA, you proud of yourselves?

Welcome to DU, Carey1!

Now you're really ringing my chimes! I LOVE Joy Reid! I think she's the best interviewer on TV - cable or conventional network. She suffers no fools, and doesn't let any of 'em get away with filibustering or rudeness or trying to sneak in the diss "Democrat party" or "Democrat bill" or "Democrat senator" or any of that shit. But then again, I suppose we should feel sorry for these morons - who obviously ditched school or otherwise missed class during third grade when they were learning the difference between nouns and adjectives.

I didn't even bother to watch. Had to go make a grocery store run.

AND, there's a "Star Trek the Next Generation" marathon on BBC-America.

Usually when the networks switch to something the First Moron is about to do, I switch networks. Or go out and walk the dog. Or whatever else. I just can't stand to look at him OR to hear his high-pitched whiny voice with his limited vocabulary and all his boring fucking repetition.

Uh-HUH! Fair and accurate response to the FAILING SO-CALLED "pResident."

Besides, donnie, in your status as a Russian asset and a puppet of Vladimir Putin, your so-called "pResidency" is therefore completely illegitimate.

That's something Barack Obama's Presidency never was and never will be. History has already recorded that, too.

Yes. This, too.

Welcome to DU, A2er!

Good Grief how often I've wondered about that myself?

WHERE IS OUR FIGHT? WHERE ARE OUR FIGHTERS? For that matter, WHERE IS OUR DEVIOUSNESS?

WHY the hell can't we fight like the bad guys do? Because the bad guys do it that way and WIN. And if our side thinks that we have to take the high ground and we can't be like them and we can't fight that way or that mean or that aggressively or as nasty and underhanded as they do, and we can't scheme and manipulate like they do (which gains them MORE WINS, btw), because we're somehow above all that, then we're just gonna keep getting rolled.

How many times have I wished we had some Roger Stones and kkkarl roves and lee atwaters and other dirty tricksters who can turn the tables from under the table? NO ONE can count that high. The best scientist or mathematician, even the late Stephen Hawking, can't count that high.

Taking the high road sounds awfully nice and uplifting and moral and all that. But in politics, taking the high road takes you straight over a cliff.

Yeah, no kidding.

If trump wants it so damn bad, why doesn't he cough up some money to pay for it?

Never mind. I know, I know...

He's actually quite good.

I'm impressed.

Welcome to DU, njcpa1978!

I spent a long hot steamy summer working there, getting set up in a new job before being transferred with it back to the West Coast. It's a whole different world.
