calimary's JournalWell, now, there is that.
I forgot about that. Good catch! A couple of the names we were kicking around farther up - appear here, too.
Meanwhile, I stumbled upon this link:
THERE ARE AT LEAST 22 DEMOCRATS THINKING ABOUT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020
http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/02/politics/2020-democrats-donald-trump/
1st Tier (If they run, they have a real chance to win the nomination)
Joe Biden
Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren
There are four tiers total, including:
2nd Tier (Have potential to be a major contender but not there....yet)
3rd Tier (There's a chance but....)
No Tier (Rich businesspeople who've never run for anything before)
Most interesting reading. Some names you'd expect. Others are a surprise.
That piece of excrement-on-legs had umpteen different replies on his Twitter page
reminding him about his own life as a deadbeat dad. "What about paying your child support, dude?" There had to be dozens of versions of that, tweeted back to him.
ASSHOLE.
And we need some more bench strength.
Anybody who is elevated to the governor's office has a nice little resume credit that makes them just that much more appetizing as a possible presidential candidate.
Dayum! I was just talking to a young activist about this very thing.
I'm sorry to have to admit it because I don't like feeling that way. But I found myself saying - "I hope they DO lose their health care. I hope this botch-job of a "health care plan" passes and all the trump supporters get screwed. See how they feel about that, then, since that's what they voted for - by voting for him."
That's pretty awful to say, and I apologize. Unfortunately, maybe people have to learn the hard way. Including the painful lessons they could have avoided. It's a shame, but that seems to be the way the cookie crumbles.
Sure feels like it, my friend.
Sure feels like it.
Feels like we've never stopped fighting it. I remember on the night of Barack Obama's first election victory, feeling as though we'd FINALLY turned the page. We FINALLY got there, as a country. We FINALLY grew up, as a nation. We FINALLY got past most of that racial shit. FINALLY!
MAN-OH-MAN was I wrong.
And then had to be squeezed out of that itty bitty hole.
I remember when I was pregnant the first time, I was told that it was "like pooping a watermelon." I remember feeling the blood drain from my face.
Who says women are the weaker sex? God gave the BIG jobs to women.
I also like to point out that God couldn't have done what He wanted to do (send His Son down to earth to live among us mortals, that is) - without a woman.
I did, too. I was delighted when he got that radio show.
Really gave him a new arena to play in. And he did a terrific job! You discovered a whole new Al Franken than the edgy-funny guy on SNL. And you couldn't help but respect him. I think that helped him make the transition from his previous career to the next one - that he holds, now.
They're coming around? How? What do you see that tells you this?
I really, sincerely, want to know, particularly in light of all the polls that keep being reported, that show his followers sticking with him by a percentage in the high 90s.
HOW are they coming around? I really do want to know. Can you give some examples? Any examples? Because I haven't seen it. It's encouraging that you see it. But WHAT do you see? HOW do you know this? Please help me understand.
Friend, gotta confess: because of what I've observed of their behavior since the beginning of the campaign, especially in view of the reality they constantly seem to ignore, and the tidal waves of constant lies they resolutely seem not to care one plug nickel about, I've come to view them as about as meritorious as the material that comes out of the backside of my dog when I take her out for walks.
I would like very much NOT to feel this way about them. They're my fellow Americans and my fellow human beings. My best friend tells me I must understand them and where they're coming from, and I've tried and tried and tried and tried and tried some more. STILL trying as I write this. And I still cannot get there.
Done! Just talked to a staffer in his DC office.
Told her how much I love this guy - President Franken.
He sure spoke for me today! Does that every day, actually, but today in committee, he REALLY spoke for me.
I LOVE Senator Franken!
Have since before he even was a Senator.
Can't help but wonder how President Franken would sound...
