His being in this position that allows him to lie nonstop and get away with it, or all those who choose to believe what he’s lying about.
We were talking about it at the Indivisible meeting
Where a few of us get together in a sub-group every weekend to write up the next week’s “Call to Action” email.
My friend noted a couple of companies had pulled their ads. A couple? Just a couple? The concensus is - that’s about as much of an uproar as there’ll be. A trifle, compared to the avalanche of outrage against Roseanne and also against Laura Ingraham. By a week from now, so much new shit will have happened that any outrage will fade.
Interesting to note the comparative decibel levels here, ‘eh? In both cases, it looks like our side actually makes a much more mighty roar about this stuff than the anemic harrumphing from the other side.
It makes me wonder about the clout we wield in this side of the aisle. Maybe advertisers are growing a lot more sensitive to what insults us liberals and progressives? Maybe there’s a greater concern about what pleases US?
If that’s a factor, then maybe we do have more potential clout than the other guys do?
Besides, I’ve seen more voices speaking in defense of Samantha Bee and the point she was trying to make, about the shallowness and insensitivity of Ivanka’s latest mother-‘n’-child pose while children of immigrants are being torn out of their parents’ arms at the border. Totally thoughtless and self-absorbed of Ivanka to do that.
YOUR DAD is causing all kinds of heartache among poor and frightened mothers who don’t have the luxury of keeping their children with them like you do, if they come to seek refuge and safety here, girlfriend. Way to rub it in, ‘eh? Cute.
I think she was "having some work done."
Plastic surgery patients often go “on vacation” to let the bruises, swelling, and the stretching heal. She just turned 48 (near the end of April) and is probably VERY conscious of what the passing of years does to the face - and other features. And he probably insists that she maintain herself as top-drawer arm candy.
That was my question, too. Did you vote for trump? Did you support his campaign?
If your answer's yes, then you built this. It's on you. And if you're getting screwed now, that's just too damn bad.

But then again, there are the workers at these companies. A loss of orders and declining business action means people are gonna start being laid off. Many of them are probably trump supporters, I'd guess. And I wonder how long they stay devoted to him after they start taking it in the shorts from his shitty policies.
Denial is a MOST amazing thing. You can float down the river for quite a while, on denial. But what happens when you get to the rapids?
If that's true, then that suggests trump and his legal team already know he's up Shit Creek.
SOOOOOO much of this shows the actions of someone who is NOT innocent. Even Trey Gowdy made that point a little while back. He said something to the effect of "act like you're innocent" - as in, that's how one who is innocent WOULD act. As in, Donald, you're not acting like that.
He did casually say that he was going to meet with those groups and "have some fun".
Let’s not forget that. “Have some fun”? FUN???? I bet not a single one of those deeply concerned, worried, and into many cases still grieving parents regard a meeting like this as having ”some fun.” Sure wasn’t “fun” - what happened to them, and to their children.
To make light of a prospective meeting with this group is such a freakin’ INSULT to those people. They’re not gonna get squat from him, in terms of any actual action - of any significance.
The remedy? VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS!!! If we get enough of them elected to office we can blunt or even cancel the damage he’s trying to do - for which the GOP is totally complicit (by doing exactly NOTHING to check his disgusting and destructive behavior). And if we REALLY get enough of them, we’d be able to override any veto he issues.
VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS. It’s our only hope. Any imaginings about how the GOP will somehow see the light and join us in checking this monster are a waste of time. Waiting for them to change is like waiting for a repeatedly abusive and unrepentant spouse to change. You’ll be waiting, in vain, forever.
