Classy!

Good for her!

Now go get ol' Moscow for us, okay, Ms. McGrath?

Damn. Just damn.

I can hear it now - he gets to the Pearly Gates - "awww, now I won't get to find out how it ends!"

St. Peter: "naaaah, don't worry about it! You got one of the best seats in the house! You're gonna LOVE the view! You can see EVERYTHING!"

I'm not from Omaha, and I'm pissed as all-get-out!

And I'm ALSO pissed - on your behalf!

So that must mean I'm doubly pissed!

He WAS! The grandpa or uncle you might always be looking forward to seeing

at family get-togethers. The affable old gent with the twinkle in his eye, and he'd always be ready to make you egg creams!

DAMN I hate it that he's gone.

DAMN.

And may I add - your "favorite" three states? REPUBLICAN governors.

Let's remember that. And spread the word. You get a REPUBLICAN governor? You get somebody who acts WAY too quickly to open up your state before it's ready or even minimally reasonable to do so, and look what you get. What did you gain by jumping the gun like that, when your state didn't satisfy even this White House's guidelines for reopening? You just had to be in a big fat hurry - and look what/where it got you? You're going to have to close back down again - something you sneered at, and your governors scoffed at.

And the virus is running wild, unmanaged, uncontrolled. And if it's happening there, it's spreading all over to states like California whose governors tried to act responsibly and make the right decisions to favor life and health FIRST and THEN the economy afterwards.

And I'll bet all those GOP governors insist they're "pro-life"...

LOVE it!

Damn - had to take a phone call so I missed it. But just seeing him start it made me feel a little better. Isn't this how we should feel when our president takes to the microphones?

Hopefully that's how it'll be next January!

VOTE, DAMMIT!!! As though your life depended on it. As though your whole battered country depended on it. As though the whole idea of American democracy depended on it.

Because it DOES. And it WILL. For absolute sure.

Donnie and "Wide".

VERY depressing it IS.

And true.

I'm surprised they haven't given him a "Super don" coloring book with a few facts snuck into some of the thought bubbles.

Hi mvd!

How are Florida, Texas, and Arizona today? Fucked as usual, according to the stats.

The map they show in that revolving series of graphics has all three states in red - which disunites 50K+ confirmed cases.

The last "States with Most Cases" graphic I saw at 11:37am, Pacific time, had two * out of three of 'em listed in the top five:
New York - 398,929
California - 223,684
New Jersey - 176,346
Texas - 158,766 *
Florida - 152,434 *

Now, at 10:09am, the newest graphic - New Cases Over Past 72 Hours - lists all three *.
Florida - 23,381 *
California - 19,298
Texas - 15,387 *
Arizona - 8,075 *
Georgia - 6,422

I have another statistic for you. As of today, my husband and I have been in self-imposed quarantine for 114 days. We're old. But we're okay. Still healthy - and so are all our friends. But they're doing what we're doing. Staying in, wearing a mask when going out, and going out only when it's absolutely necessary.

Yesterday we tried a drive-up grocery online-order experiment. You set it up, pick out your stuff, pay, and set a time when you want to go pick it up. When the time comes, they text you a reminder, and you drive over, park in the designated pick-up area, pop the trunk open and an assistant comes out and loads your groceries into your car. Wearing gloves and mask, btw. No human contact. And no exchange of possible droplets. and then you drive home! It worked fine!

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
