Me too, Delmette2.0!

I'd bring my favorite protest poster!

I just wish I knew how to rotate the photo so it stood up correctly.

Schmuck L'Orange!!!!!!

One of the best nicknames yet, peekaloo!

Might add to the pile-on, that's for sure.

And it’s not a bit surprising. Makes me wonder about his contractors and subcontractors and how many of them got short-sheeted by trump on pay for work done. I’d assumed it was always because he’d tell them “so sue me!” and they’d cave because they didn’t have the deep pockets to follow through on expensive legal redress like he had. Maybe that dynamic is only PART of it.

Maybe some of them also got a visit from one of those “gee, nice little company you got there. Sure would be a shame if something happened to it...” goons.

Yep! FIRST, we have to WIN.

AFTER we win, then we can drill down into the business at hand.

Winning comes first, and remains the highest priority. You can only govern if you win.

You only get subpoena power if you WIN.

You only get to chair all the committees if you WIN.

You only get to set the agenda in those committed if you WIN.

You only get to decide what is allowed to come up for a vote and what gets shelved if you WIN.

Vince Lombardi once said “winning is not a sometime thing, it’s the ONLY thing. And there’s only room for one place, and that’s FIRST place.” My dad had a plaque made of that quote and kept it hung in his office in a prominent place, throughout his entire working life.

No idea whether that's part of it but it is part of human nature

to want to avoid having to admit you’re wrong, or that you made a mistake. Or worse, to be honest enough to admit that you’ve been HAD.

NOBODY wants to be a fool, or to be openly recognized as one.

Trying HARD to be sympathetic to their plight.

And not succeeding very well, I’m afraid. When it’s self-inflicted I have kind of a hard time...

Hillary would NOT have done this to them, even if they didn’t vote for her.

July 29, 2018

I know how you feel, pazzyanne.

If I absolutely have to vote for her I will. But she did lead the railroading of Al Franken, silencing a strong, forceful, and insightful voice just when we were needing as many of those as we could get.

And all because of a dumb slap-happy end-of-tour practical joke, Roger Stone, a has-been, low-rated, low-power AM crank station hoping for attention and a Democratic scalp, and some Minnesota county fair attendee who wanted her picture taken with Franken and then complained that “he touched my waist!”

And BTW, that hatchet job did nothing to help said talk station’s lousy ratings, either! I worked across the hall at its FM sister station back when that particular AMer was one of the top stations in LA. Its past glories are so far back in its rear view mirror by now that they’re barely visible. Just like its current ratings! Maybe there’s some justice, albeit minimal.

Hope so. We still need him rather badly.

He’s one of those rare souls who transcends. Makes you want to stand when he enters the room.

Hope he’s back on his feet SOON!

July 29, 2018

Just awful.

And with the rate the climate is changing, we’re gonna see more of this.

July 29, 2018

Yeah. It's powerful as all-get-out. And it sneaks up on you.

I’d barely reached the halfway point at the lowest depth below ground level when it dawned on me that tears were streaming down my face.

Designed by a young woman named Maya Lin. She was 21 when her idea for the monument was chosen, in 1981.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
