Welcome to DU, richsonpoordad!
Depends on who the 3rd party candidate is.
I will always be grateful to Ross Perot for keeping George the II from a second term in 1992, and then Bob Dole from taking the White House in 1996. Both times, that helped Bill Clinton win, because Ross Perot created a "giant sucking sound" of votes away from the conventional republi-CON candidate.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BA-BOOM!
Awwwwwww...
Lordy, do I get that. Today (Friday) is the one-week mark.
DAYUM this one was hard. And Ive lost quite a few beloved pets in my life. Loved them all. Heartbroken at every passing. But DAYUM, this one was crushing.
You have all my empathy and moral support in your own loss. Just know that you certainly dont grieve alone. Im right there with ya. I suspect there are loads of others here in the same boat.
You've never steered any of us wrong, catbyte.
I think these warnings of yours should be taken TREMENDOUSLY seriously.
And yes, we absolutely should, indeed MUST, be ready for any asshole reaction/response that he might pull.
Is there ANY way to take his twitter account away? He uses it to incite and inflame all the worst among us - ideas, prejudices, AND people.
I know exactly what you mean, amerikat.
Don't apologize, MontanaMama.
Im still all chopped up since Goldie, our 16-year-old shepherd-something headed off to the Rainbow Bridge. Last Friday. So it hasnt even been a whole week yet. Im like you in that I find myself thinking - gee, a week ago she was still here... and last week at this time we were about to take her out for her evening constitutional.
Im still a mess, pretty much. Ive lost other cats and dogs but this one - this one hit me hard. Melancholy as hell. Its good that you posted about Kiwi, and eventually Louis too. They really are our beloveds, too. Visiting angels for sure. Thanks so much for sharing their stories with us. And lots of DUers will read your post and know about YOUR visiting angels and how much these little critters mean to you.
Many soft but strong pairs of shoulders get shared at these times. Youll find comfort and sympathy, and empathy. You may even find youre turning around and helping somebody else here when its his or her turn to grieve.
You do not mourn alone. DU will buoy you up. Sure worked for me (again) last weekend. This is a wonderful community. And its here for you right this minute.
