People like these two give me hope.

Like the tiny green shoots that start poking up through the ashes and debris after a forest fire.

I haven't had time to click on that link yet.

But I do want to hear the whole thing. Maybe he answers his own question.

Welcome to DU, bjvom!

I keep thinking about that quote - "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" (Sir Walter Scott, 1808).

Welcome to DU, 1cheapbeemr!

Yep. Looks mighty credible.

His final quote in the Telluride Daily Planet piece covering his local appearance really threw me for a loop:

"The worst thing you can do when you look at this Russian thing is take sides."

For Pete's sake, how can you NOT take sides? I always was anti-trump but my poor estimation of him only grows more irrevocable.

Interesting point.

If I had to guess - “are they or aren’t they” I’d have to go with “they are.” They’re now looking more suspicious, like they’re trying to preserve and protect their own hides, not just trump’s. Ramping up all the cries of “probe’s gotta stop” just as Robert Mueller seems to be closing in.

It just looks, sounds, acts, quacks, and of course smells suspicious now.

So damn true!

I wondered about that, just this morning.

Say we do win in November and flip the House. Then comes the vote for Speaker.

Are we REALLY gonna dissolve into internal bickering and divisiveness quibbling over who should be Speaker?

Are we REALLY gonna tarnish that win we will just have worked so hard to earn?

Are we REALLY gonna mess up the narrative, that badly? So badly that the media and the opposition both take that up and run with it -about how all Democrats can do is fight among themselves and won't get anything done and they've thus turned a big victory into a bigger and colossally embarrassing world-class public relations blunder?

Are we REALLY gonna voluntarily make ourselves look like jerks? And just keep on feeding the narrative that Democrats are famous for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?

WE CAN'T AFFORD THAT, Brothers and Sisters!

And fucking Maureen Dowd couldn't get enough putdowns in her NYT columns

snarking about his sweaters and his wearing earth tones and all kinds of superficial crap. She thought she was soooooooo funny. I'm sure all those who lost loved ones in the unnecessary war of lies in Iraq think so, too. That was one of many things that would not have happened if Al Gore had been president.

Okay, 3rd party fans - don't forget how fucking Ralph Nader screwed us all - and, stunningly, his own self and all the consumer protection work he'd done in the past, by making it possible for bush/cheney to get close enough to steal it. And steal it they DID. I hope he's happy. Didja "send that message," Ralphie-boy? How’s that republi-CON governing that YOU made possible working out for ya?

Just like the Green Party jerk did in Ohio 12 last week. HAD to get in there and take just enough votes away from O'Connor so he'd come up short and that seat stayed red. That thousand votes that went to the Green Party guy would have been more than enough to put O'Connor over the top.

There is NO REASON - NONE - to vote 3rd party unless you actually want the Republi-CONS to win. NONE.

WHEN ARE WE GONNA LEARN THAT??????????????

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
