I certainly don't think so. You didn't reveal anything traceable, and you put another human face on

this stupid myth that the bad guys have been pushing since the God-forsaken reagan years.

I think people need to see the "47%," if you will, for the genuine living breathing human beings they are. Not just some millionaires-talking-to-each-other-a-the-country-club-about-the-great-unwashed (who MAY be lucky enough to have been hired to wait tables or clean the men's room at that country club).

Welcome to DU, all american girl!

Go ahead and be angry. Or maybe - take a number. There's a long line of us who've been seething about this and other manifestations of the real wrongney, the real teabaggers, the real CONservatives, and the real republi-CONS. They betray their true feelings and, as usual, it's when they think nobody is looking.

They're all VERY into whatever they can get away with.

Glad you're here! We need you! Let's put this selfish, arrogant, imperious, spoiled-brat bastard AWAY.

Now get to work.

Except... Welcome to DU, viguy007!

Glad you're here, too! And we need you! There are STILL some who may be swayed by the commercial carpet-bombing on TV and cable in the last few weeks.

Now get to work.

YIKES! Must be wrongney! Same dark, sinister brow!

And surrounded by vermin! GOTTA be wrongney! I think I see reince priebus over there on the "right."

Welcome to DU, Sophiegirl! A most intriguing post. There have indeed been many campaign "obits"

that have been written, mainly since the RNC's CONvention, but one never likes to count chickens and all that...

That said, the last week or so has been quite full of really glaring errors, revelatory errors that rip the cover off that man behind the curtain. And by now it's not just one isolated incident. It's a Bizarro World string of pearls. More gaffes and blunders and pearl-clutching seemingly by the DAY. And it starts to combine into a fuller picture, all of it - um - shall we say unimpressive.

And the secretly recorded video - in which he's talking behind closed doors where the press isn't supposed to go and everybody's been well-vetted and no "undesirables" are allowed. He's talking to his own, the only people he really cares about, and showing his real self. I don't know if he can recover from this one. This may be just one callous blunder too many.

Glad you're here! We need you!

Now get to work.

Let's not get complacent here, though. I'm gonna worry about wrongney til he makes "that" call to

President Obama, conceding the election.

The Right To Work For Less.

I think the presumption, or the fairy tale, whichever you prefer, is that - if those durn wages weren't so dad-burned high, as dictated by those nasty ol' unions, business owners could afford to hire more.

To which I would respond - So noted. How's that been working out for ya?

Welcome to DU, sameday!

Very glad you're here, and I couldn't agree more. The very IDEA that a republi-CON - I don't care how "moderate" - would actually be occupying the Senate seat that Ted Kennedy held for decades - is an OUTRAGE! What on earth were they thinking, even just on principle? Ted Kennedy's old seat, of all Senate seats, falling into enemy hands. I never thought I'd see the day! But I'm old enough to be part of the greater Kennedy Family Fan Club from the '60s. That name carried tremendous meaning to so many. The Kennedy era inspired so many young people to want to get involved, and "ask what they could do for their country." It gave us hope, a sense of commitment, and a sense of DUTY! To our country and to our future! Something nobody bothers with anymore. No one gives a rat's ass about duty to one's country - except for those precious few volunteers who go and put on their country's uniform and willingly put themselves into harm's way.

In some ways, at least to me, it almost feels as though the planet began rotating the wrong way or tilted on its axis - when that republi-CON wound up taking Ted Kennedy's Senate seat! As though it's not the natural order of things. That seat, just on principle, needs to be back in Democratic hands. And no pair of hands is more splendid or well-suited to step up and take the job than Elizabeth Warren's. She is entirely worthy and deserving of that seat. The Kennedys of old would have found her to be a kindred spirit. And when she speaks, she reminds me of that passion so many of us as young people had awakened within us just as we were coming of age, or closing in on it, during the Kennedy era. I'm being incredibly idealistic here, but that's how it felt. When we were young again after the old, cold, Grandpa's-in-charge Eisenhower era, and all of a sudden there was this chic young couple with little bitty kids who moved into the White House - like springtime coming after a long drawn-out, cold, numbing winter. It's like when you hear the voices of children squealing and laughing in the neighborhood when an elderly couple moves out and a young family moves in. That's how it felt. Reinvigorated and rejuvenated and hopeful - so hopeful we could go to the frickin' MOON if we wanted to!

I've taken it personally, and as a personal insult, that there'd actually be a republi-CON desecrating Ted Kennedy's Senate Seat. Yeah, I admit, I'm taking it a little TOO personally. Heck. I live in California. I'm not a Massachusetts resident. I've never even been there! But thereya go. I SO DEEPLY and ARDENTLY hope, as a child of the '60s, that we get that seat back in a couple of months!!!!

Hey, wasn't she one of the two women "plants" at some wrongney rally awhile back -

in which there was a question or two from the fans about how Obama MUST be impeached? The woman who asked that particular question was a fancy-looking female, but you saw her from the side over at camera left in front of the stage, with somebody else standing partially in the way. And she was reaching out and gesturing assertively to punctuate her question about impeaching Obama. This woman looked a lot like the one photographed here. D'you suppose they're the same person?

It certainly wouldn't be the first time the republi-CONS manufactured outrage in presidential campaigns. Remember the "Brooks Brothers riot" in Florida during Selection 2000 - that intimidated the vote counters in an office behind locked glass doors, with this mob of people pounding the doors and shaking their fists and shouting to stop the vote count? Turns out every last one of 'em was either a GOP operative or a staffer from some republi-CON senator's or congresscritter's office. Totally manufactured. But it sure got a lot of coverage and fooled a HELLUVA lot of people.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
