Occam's Razor is a problem-solving principle that has been stated in various ways. "When an occurrence has several possible explanations, the one that requires the fewest assumptions is most often correct."
Stated more succinctly, the simplest explanation is usually right.
Applying this principle, we see quite clearly that Donald Trump is seriously mentally ill. We may not be qualified to diagnose him as a narcissistic psychopath or sociopath, but we don't need a degree to know that he is a one sick puppy. Sure, there are other "possible" explanations for his bizarre, irrational and nation-damaging conduct in office, but none is as straightforward, simple and obvious as "he's crazy".
If the 25th Amendment does not apply in this hazardous situation, it is useless and should be repealed and replaced with a remedy that cannot be thwarted by blind partisanship.
I think I have a good name for the Trump cultists who call this virus a hoax:
"Branch Covidians". They may not be in WACO, but they are certainly whacko.
This is all the "civility" I can manage: someone tell me again why "Doctor" Birx is
entitled to any respect!
I have just listened to her explain the proposal to evaluate EVERY DAMN COUNTY IN EVERY STATE IN THE COUNTRY and designate each either low, medium or high risk for Corona virus with DIFFERENT LEVELS OF "SOCIAL DISTANCING" for each different county! And, this is so "some" of the country can return to work by Easter! What in hell could go wrong? This would be a lengthy and near impossible task for a competent administration and this one is run by a man who can't find his ass with either hand who wants it done before Easter!
And, this is what now passes for intelligence? This is a "respected physician"?
This proposal is nothing more than a transparent fig leaf to cover for Trump's INSANE insistence on "getting back to work" by Easter. Those proposing it are shameless whores and those who defend it are idiots!
Everything---and everyone---Trump touches turns to shit.
A word of caution to the smirking strutting jackasses still wearing their MAGA hats in
public: you are wearing the simple-minded equivalent of a Klan hood or a Nazi swastika. Like Americans whose ancestors were lynched or gassed, Americans who have lost family or friends to this Corona virus may react suddenly and violently to your stupid cap which says you still support the uncaring monster who valued his own wealth and position more than our lives.
You are in the minority for a reason. Your leader is an illegitimate aberration whose very name will be spoken with curled lips and clenched fists for generations.

After a very foggy start, today turned sunny this afternoon in southern Illinois and I ventured
out to take stock of winter's damage and spring's promise. What I call "microflowers" are beginning to decorate the meadow and the fruit trees are beginning to "show color".
There are blowdowns to clear and redbuds and dogwoods to transplant. There are holes to be dug for apple and cherry trees scheduled to arrive next month. I give thanks for work to be done and the continuing ability to do it.
I am about halfway through a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch bourbon (94 proof) and I am free of pretense or artifice. What is going to happen will happen and our sole obligation is to either live or die well. The only constant is that love is the most God-like activity in which we can engage.

safely bring groceries, etc. Into your home in view of pandemic. Want to share with my kids and now can't find it.

IF---we get rid of Trump, we can say "That's ONE!"
What do we do about the remaining 40% of the population who are apparently just as selfish, bigoted, mean and proudly ignorant as their Dear Leader?
If Trump had a brain, he'd take it out and play with it. Could we just STOP broadcasting his
absurd and irrational blather?
His rambling childish prattling is not just useless; it is harmful. It uses TV time that could be used to educate us about the virus AND, sadly, some people actually don't realize they're listening to an idiot.
Why are some of these shallow, inane, irrelevant TV commercials not being replaced by
twice-an-hour PSAs explaining how to sanitize our homes, how to properly wear a mask, how Covid 19 is worse than the flu, common symptoms of infection, etc.?
We have millions sheltering in place watching the tube. Could our government use this opportunity to provide us with the truth instead of "happy talk" and bullshit?
