Atticus's JournalCan I ask you to please just STOP for a moment?
We are all being swept along by the swift current of our yearning for this whole pandemic nightmare to be over. We have endured so much pain and loss and fear that experiences that would have shocked and enraged us several years ago have now been relegated to just another outrage for which we no longer feel outrage. We have begun to welcome numbness.
Trump is a monster.
He is not just "the former president"; he is not simply a "failure"; he is not even just a "bad person" or "our worst president"
Donald Trump---despite his cultist's insistence that he "developed vaccines in record time"---actually did NOTHING to contain or prevent or defeat the Corona virus. In fact, he lied to us about how bad it was while we lost over half a million mothers, fathers, grandparents, spouses, children and friends and he concerned himself with " the markets".
Trump was and is a monster.
We need to reclaim our common sense and our righteous indignation and treat him accordingly whenever and wherever he raises his scaly head.
What is the term for a discontinued type of yogurt?
A "cancelled culture"!
What? You don't like Dad Jokes?
Are we still expecting a Cuomo presser? nt
In 2017, per a Quinippiac poll, only 25% supported the Trump tax cut. Every Republican in
Congress voted FOR it. 83% of the benefits went to the top 1%.
Now, in 2021, per MSNBC just now, 75% support the Biden covid relief act. Every Republican in Congress voted AGAINST it. The benefits go to everyone and 85% of Americans will receive checks within days.
If you can wrap your head around those facts and still vote Republican, please kiss my ass!
So that's why Trump loved---and envied---Turkey's president Erdogan.
Merely "insulting" Erdogan is a CRIME in Turkey that carries four years in prison as a penalty!
Does anyone doubt---even a tiny bitsy bit---that Trump would not have loved such a law in our country?
People---the number of Republicans who voted FOR the $1.9 trillion covid relief bill: ZERO;
the number of Republicans who voted AGAINST Trump's tax cut for billionaires: ZERO.
Questions?
The difference between the parties? Joe would really like to have bipartisanship;
Republicans would prefer to "buy partisanship".
When Ron Johnson gets home next weekend, I hope his mama
runs out from under the porch and BITES him!
A "fowl" tale that explains Republican criticisms of President Biden:
Two duck hunters had long argued about who owned the best retriever and finally agreed to hunt together on opening day so they could judge each other's dog's performance.
They were in their blind at sunrise and one man dropped a mallard from the first flight. As the bird splashed into the water, the hunter proudly sent his big Chesapeake Bay retriever---let's call him "Donnie"---after it. Donnie paddled out furiously, grabbed the mallard in his jaws, thrashed it about and chewed it for several seconds and then turned and splashed back with the mauled bird.
"Pretty good, huh?" Donnie's owner asked. "How's your dog gonna beat that? By the way, where IS your dog?"
The other hunter smiled and reached into the large pocket of his hunting coat and pulled out---a Chihuahua! "This is ol' Joe. He gets it done."
The first hunter was still in slack-jawed amazement when more ducks set their wings and glided toward the blind. Joe's owner dropped two and Joe headed for them immediately. He weighed so little and ran so carefully that he never broke the surface tension of the water. He glided out like one of those water-bugs, carefully and gently latched onto both ducks, brought them back and dropped them at his owner's feet.
His proud owner turned to Donnie's owner and asked "What do you think of Joe now?"
The other guy rolled his eyes as he scratched Donnie's head and commented "Poor little guy can't swim, can he?"
