Atticus
Atticus's JournalJust a coincidence ---- or karma?
Trump's rally-goers shout "FOUR MORE YEARS!" and the maximum penalty for the felony he's about to be charged with is FOUR YEARS?
Donald Trump is a "stable genius", a brilliant deal maker, a devout Christian, wonderful father,
faithful husband and par golfer who built a secure border wall that Mexico paid for, has never lied to anyone, won the popular vote by landslides in both '16 and '20 and------oh, yeah, he took in six million dollars in campaign contributions just since being indicted.
Who could possibly doubt that?
Very few here need to hear this, but---
---there is NO reason not to vote for EVERY Democrat on this next ballot. NONE!
Makes no difference if you are not deliriously happy with all the names with "D's" after them. Voting is CHOOSING those you believe to be the best candidate from the choices available. If so-and-so is "too far right" or "too far left" for your personal preference----suck it up and, if you must, hold your nose--- but, vote for them because they are Democrats and are therefore better than whatever is running against them.
Leaving a box blank next to a Democrat's name or staying home and not voting at all will be a vote for the MAGA Party. PERIOD!
Back whichever candidate you prefer in the primaries and say what you will on their behalf here but, come general election day, vote for "ours", OK?
DO NOT buy into any of the rank BULLSHIT that Trump and his bobblehead cultists
are spewing and the "liberal press" is dutifully reporting.
This nation will not "die" if Trump is prosecuted, convicted and punished for any of his many crimes.
There may well be isolated incidents of violence by some of the deranged whackjobs who worship him, but talk of "civil war" is too silly to bother discussing.
Trump may run, but he cannot hide. He can delay his convictions---plural---, but he can't prevent them.
Now's not the time to "go wobbly". Keep calm and carry on.
At least Sen. Graham's tearful defense of Trump answered one question we've always asked:
"Have you no shame?"
For those who recall the musical "Oklahoma!"---
The Republicans are now "the PARTY with the FRINGE on top!"
This appears to be the statute upon which the Trump indictment is based:
"175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree.
A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree
when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second
degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit
another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.
Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony."
"Another crime" is not limited to New York state crimes.
"Intent to commit" does not require that the crime be actually committed.
"Aid or conceal" is pretty straightforward.
If a jury ever get this case, how could they not convict---just based on what has already been made public?
Or, is my naivete showing?
Uh---on Joy's show just now said "Trump got his pecker pulled by a porn star---and I don't mean
David Pecker, either!"
How shall I ask this---? Does anyone know what the "rules of engagement" will be if law
enforcement officers are confronted next Tuesday by Trump's thugs bearing weapons?
I'll stop with that.
Are there still some among us who believe that the Republicans in Congress or governor's
offices who STILL---as in "since yesterday"--- support and defend Trump can be "worked with"?---can be "reasoned with"?--- will ever be worthy of the trust and respect of decent Americans?
Is it not time to stop pretending "things will work out" with people who are doing all they can to destroy our government holding positions of authority within that government?
Since we can't get rid of them just by flushing, we need to defeat as many as possible in each of the next several elections and never miss an opportunity to confront, criticize, embarrass and impede them. In other words, let's take the gloves off, ok?
