If -- as it appears -- the vote to vacate McCarthy's speakership succeeds...
A House member from an unpublished list will assume the role of temporary Speaker, and the House will ONLY be able to hold votes on a new Speaker (with nomination speeches and roll call votes) or to adjourn.

No "Present" votes.

California Sen. Laphonza Butler sworn in, marking historic first
Source: Axios
Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.) was sworn into office on Tuesday, becoming the first Black lesbian to openly serve in the U.S. Senate.
Driving the news: Vice President Kamala Harris, the first Black woman to represent California in the Senate, administered Butler's oath of office. Butler replaces longtime Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who died on Friday.
Butler serves as the president of Emily's List, a national PAC that supports pro-choice Democratic women in politics.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who appointed Butler to fill Feinstein's seat, said she plans to step down from the advocacy role.

Judge Gags Trump After Ex-President Attacks His Law Clerk
Source: The Messenger
New York judge gagged former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, after he attacked his clerk by name and shared her image on social media.
Personal attacks on members on my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate, and I won't tolerate it [in my courtroom], said Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron.
He added later to "consider this a gag order for all parties from posting about any members of my staff."
Shortly before the lunch recess, Trump circulated a false rumor about Engorons clerk, which traces its origins to a now-shuttered satirical website.
