This piecemeal shutdown approach is dragging things out. Why not SHUT IT ALL DOWN

NOW, in all US states and territories, so that we can hopefully be on track within weeks as opposed to months!?

And no, I'm in no way fully prepared and I dread the thought of eating spam, but I would much rather be locked down for 3 weeks versus 3 to 18 months. What are we waiting on? I'm growing suspicious. Millions of kids are out of school right now. Shouldn't we rip the bandaid off now?

Am I the only one feeling like this?

Anthem (Blue Cross Blue Shield) just emailed me with their COVID19 response

It looks like they'll cover the test but that's it.

COVID-19: See a doctor online at no extra cost through June 14, 2020.

Your benefits are changing to give you extra support right now, including online visits with board-certified doctors 24/7 at no cost through June 14, 2020.

Here's how your health plan helps you: Check symptoms and have doctor visits from home
You can download the free Sydney Care mobile app for a quick and easy way to evaluate your symptoms. You can connect with a doctor through a LiveHealth Online video session or a Virtual Care text session right from your phone. The doctor can evaluate your symptoms, help you understand whether you’re at risk for COVID-19, and let you know whether you need to visit a local health care provider in person for COVID-19 testing.

LiveHealth Online is available for members at no extra cost through June 14, 2020.

...

Additionally, if your plan includes a 90-day mail-order pharmacy benefit, talk to your doctor about whether changing from a 30-day supply to a 90-day supply is appropriate. You can get your 90-day supply through our home delivery pharmacy for most medications. Call the Pharmacy Member Services number on your ID card to learn more.

If you need a COVID-19 test, it's covered. Your Anthem health plan covers COVID-19 testing and the visit where you get the test with no out-of-pocket costs.

If you're diagnosed as having COVID-19, your Anthem health plan benefits apply to treatments.

trump's demeanor was really different today. I think he's positive

Positive for Coronavirus, that is.

Would you keep a dental appointment during this time?

I'm experiencing occasional discomfort in a molar but don't want to give nor get coronavirus. I plan to cancel the appointment, which is scheduled for Monday, but I hope I'm not overreacting.

Maybe trump's adderall sniffing and cocaine abuse

is helping him remain symptom free? I take a legally prescribed ADHD medication. For whatever reason, I've never had a cold or flu while on it, even after direct and prolonged exposure to friends/family with colds and/or the flu.

We're not going to change their minds, guys.

Any attempt to change their minds makes them even more devoted and, in some cases, unhinged.

A good friend of mine who supports Bernie just called me delusional.

It's like talking to a brick wall.

I haven't seen this much blind devotion to a candidate since, well, trump.

Seems like we either join in the madness or lose.

What happens if the president-elect dies before being inaugurated?

Sorry for the morbid topic, but I was curious about how our Constitution handles this scenario. Basically the answer depends on whether the Electoral College has met or not:

After The Electoral Votes Have Been Cast

After the general election determines which candidates the members of the Electoral College will pledge their votes to, the Electors meet on December 19 to cast their votes. Then, Congress counts these votes on January 6, which actually determines the winner. Finally, on January 20, the presidential inauguration ceremony takes place.

If the president-elect dies after Congress counts the votes and before the inauguration, the 20th Amendment would take care of things. It states that the vice president-elect would assume the role of president-elect. As for whom (the new president elect) would pick as his/her new veep, both Houses of Congress would have to confirm that after the swearing in ceremony.

Before The Electoral College Has Met

Quite a few states — including Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and West Virginia — do not have laws binding their electors, which means that in the event that the president-elect dies, those electors could cast their vote for someone else.

As far as the 29 remaining states (plus Washington, D.C.) are concerned, federal law does not dictate that they must continue to cast their vote for the deceased president-elect. Nor does it say that these 29 states must vote for the vice president-elect in the president-elect’s stead. Technically, these electors could vote for whomever they wanted — and that’s where some serious questions arise.

Rahm Emanuel says last debate was "a bit amateur hour"

@RahmEmanuel
on the opportunity he believes Democratic candidates missed at the Nevada #DemDebate: “You’re attacking Bloomberg who’s not even on the ballot.”

“This was... a bit amateur hour.” https://abcn.ws/2RiH3wd

https://twitter.com/TheView/status/1232005936455278592?s=20

Rahm asked why they didn't ask about Bernie's record on guns, and why they didn't ask what insurance Bernie used to pay for his heart attack care.

Bernie as nominee would allow trump to steal the election with no questions asked

It's not about whether Bernie can actually win or not. I think he can, but the fact that so many people question Bernie's electability is a huge problem because it provides plenty of cover for the GOP and /or Russia to do whatever the hell they want on election day.

They could make Bernie lose all 50 States, and nobody with the ability to investigate would do so. Why? Because we've never attempted to run a self proclaimed socialist before. A massive loss wouldn't elicit cries of election fraud. In fact, the media would immediately blame Democrats for choosing a socialist candidate and everyone would agree.

I just don't get why we would take this type of risk with so much at stake. It's crazy to me!
