Holy shit! They really need to put Civics back in the public schools

From the AOL comment section on the judge granting the nationwide temporary restraining order on Trump immigration ban.

I can understand one comment but look at the likes vs dislikes.

I wonder what the world thinks about this madness. Some judge over rules the President. That is unheard of in most of the world.

Any producers out there? Please make this movie!

Lets be real, Trump is not a bright person and had he come from a middle class family he would have been a racist angry version of Randall, the guy Jack Nicholson tried to prevent his daughter from marrying in About Schmidt. A waterbed salesman attempting every pyramid scheme presented to him. He never would have made it to the second level in Amway. A total looser!

So you know those movies that do the alternative lives of people? Someone MUST do one for Trump! Lets face it, how the fuck do you screw up investing in casino's and real estate? He is just a big fucking racist fuck up who was given a shit load of money by his Dad and made a name for himself being rude, arrogant, belligerent, sexist, insensitive etc. etc. etc. The only difference between him and Paris Hilton is that she grew her wealth a shit load faster than he did.

Alexander Payne would be a great director for this!

A nice version of Trump's alternate life comes in around the 1 minute mark:

Why Fake News Targeted Trump Supporters

One of the few comforts liberals had in the aftermath of the election was the anecdotal reporting that fake-news purveyors found it easier to get conservatives to believe their baloney.

As one such fake-news entrepreneur, responsible for articles with headlines like, “FBI Agent Suspected in Hillary Email Leaks Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide,” told NPR: "We’ve tried to do [fake news with] liberals. It just has never worked, it never takes off. You'll get debunked within the first two comments and then the whole thing just kind of fizzles out."

No doubt this served as a signal, to some, that if fake news works better on Trump supporters, it must be because liberals are smarter than conservatives. “I can safely binge-drink the next four years away,” some liberals might have thought, “since I have all these extra brain cells to burn.”

Well, not quite. According to a study slated to be published in the journal Psychological Science, it might be true that conservatives are more likely to fall for false, threatening-seeming information, but it’s not because they’re dumb. It’s because they’re hyper-attuned to hazards in their world. If they spot a sign of danger, they figure trusting it is better than ignoring it.

The Myth of the Muslim Tide

by Doug Saunders, Huffington Post

In my new book The Myth of the Muslim Tide, I chronicle the widespread misunderstanding of Muslim immigration to the West. As with Jews and Catholics before, I discuss that Muslims are being seen as an impossible-to-integrate, fast-reproducing invasion force who follow a religion that’s more an ideology of conquest than a faith. Using the latest facts and figures, I illustrate the far less alarming truth about these new arrivals.

Here are 10 common myths about Muslims in the West:

1. Muslims have a higher birth rate than other religions, and will take over the world by population

Two generations ago, it seemed as if Islamic countries were destined for out-of-control population growth. People spoke of an “Islamic fertility rate” – – more than 5 children per family, on average – – and predicted minaret spires foresting the Earth. Today, it is readily apparent that Islam is not connected with population growth. Just look at Iran, the world’s only Islamic theocracy, where the average family had around 7 children in the 1980s – – and has 1.7 today, a lower rate than France or Britain. Or look at the United Arab Emirates, with 1.9 children per family. Or Turkey, ruled by an elected party of devout Muslims for a decade, which now has 2.15 children per family. Or Lebanon, where, despite Hezbollah’s rise, has only 1.86 children per family (so that its population will be shrinking). Around the world, the average Muslim family size has fallen from 4.3 children per family in 1995 to 2.9 in 2010, and is expected to fall below the population-growth rate, and converge with Western family sizes, by mid-century. This is a crucial sign that Muslim societies are undergoing a major modernizing, secularizing wave – – even if they elect Islamist parties while doing so.

2. Immigrants from Muslim countries are going to swamp us

People look at the huge families of many new Muslim immigrants and imagine them multiplying at exponential rates. But this is a bit of an illusion – -as are many of the figures suggesting that Muslim immigrants have fertility rates higher than in their homelands. This is because most new immigrants have most of their children in the years immediately after their arrival. The way we calculate Total Fertility Rate – – the measure of average family size – – is by taking the total number of births a woman has had and extrapolating it across her fertile life. As a result, immigrants appear to have more children than they really do. In reality, the family sizes of Muslim immigrant groups are converging fast with those of average Westerners – – faster, it seems, than either Jewish or Catholic immigrants did in their time. Muslims in France and Germany are now having only 2.2 children per family, barely above the national average. And while Pakistani immigrants in Britain have 3.5 children each, their British-born daughers have only 2.5. Across Europe, the difference between the Muslim and non-Muslim fertility rate has fallen from 0.7 to 0.4, and is headed toward a continent-wide convergence.

3. Muslims will become a majority in European countries

Does Bannon want the US to end up pure white or just change the trajectory?

What is his ultimate goal? He has talked about his fear of minorities overtaking whites in the US and Muslims outnumbering Christians in Europe in 50 years or so (which is a false claim by the way). So is he just trying to shake things up a bit and reduce immigration etc. or is he trying to get a 3rd World War going with Muslims and other races so they can use Nuclear War to wipe them off the face of the earth and get another Holocaust going here in the US?

With all this talk of war with everyone we need to really be worried here. He says he wants chaos and we should take him seriously. An interesting thing about Bannon is he doesn't take care of himself or his appearance which probably means he may not value himself. People who don't like themselves are the ones who do school shootings. Psychology studies are pretty clear that self hate often leads to violence.

Thoughts on Trump voters giving up after things don't get better?

We know a lot of the base has been upset at the party and pushing things further and further to the right and Trump is pretty much as far right as it's going to get. So after 4 years of disaster where are they going to go? The GOP will have backed itself up against a wall or preferably a cliff.
