Quixote1818's JournalSh*t Ben Carson Says: The Complete Collection
by Tommy Christopher | 2:18 pm, November 7th, 2015
Since his sharp rise in the Republican primary polls, retired neurosurgeon and self-styled worst knife-fighter in the world Ben Carson has become well-known for saying lots of crazy, unfounded, or just plain weird things. Since Carson has actually been saying stuff on video for a good quarter-century, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with both the unearthed and the real-time cray. With all of this to choose from, its absolutely confounding that the media has chosen Carsons fish story about West Point as their hill to die on.
As a public service to my readers, Ive decided to gather all of it in one place, or as much as the internet and I can come up with. For liberals and Trump fans, consider this a trove from which to throw together your own homemade anti-Carson ads. For conservatives and Carson supporters, just throw these links into a Facebook post entitled How the Media Smears Ben Carson By Playing Things He Said Exactly How He Said Them With His Own Mouth, since were only including things you can hear, not things by reporters that you have to read. Ive arranged them with those youre less likely to have seen already first, then down to the more well-known ones.
Enjoy, and share with your friends!

Mother Jones: Ben Carson and the Tale of Redemption
No one who's not an evangelical Christian would believe it for a second. But evangelicals hear testimonies like this all the time. They expect testimonies like this, and the more improbable the better. So Carson gives them one. It's clumsy because he's not very good at inventing this kind of thing, but that doesn't matter much.
By Kevin Drum
For those of you who may have missed it, the Wall Street Journal decided to check out another Ben Carson story yesterday. Here's the story as recounted in Gifted Hands, about Carson's time as a student at Yale:
◾Ben is broke. Finds ten-dollar bill on sidewalk. Thank you, Lord!
◾A year later, Ben is broke again. Looks for ten-dollar bill, doesn't find one.
◾Ben gets notice that all the final exams in Perceptions 301 were accidentally lit on fire. He goes in for the retest.
◾The new test is really, really hard. A girl near Ben tells her classmate they should leave. "We can say we didn't read the notice."
◾Everyone starts leaving. Ben is conflicted. "I was tempted to walk out, but I had read the notice, and I couldn't lie and say I hadn't."
◾Eventually Ben is the only one left. The professor comes back in with a Yale Daily News photographer. The whole thing was a hoax, she said. "We wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class. And that's you."
◾Ben concludes the story: "The professor then did something even better. She handed me a ten-dollar bill."
◾End scene.

If Hillary gets the nomination she really needs to put Bernie or Warren on the ticket
otherwise I fear part of the base will stay home. Not saying I will because nothing will keep me away from the polls but young voters need someone to be excited about and they are not excited about Hillary. It's predicted to be extremely close and if Hillary does get the nomination which I anticipate even as Sanders supporter, she will need those youngsters energized.
They might be a pretty good combo too: http://www.bustle.com/articles/117203-a-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-ticket-could-be-the-right-combo-to-get-things-done
Since Presidential approval often impacts elections, what will Obama's aproval be in one year?
With unemployment down to 5% and I am guessing it will be in the mid 4's in a year where will his approval be?
Guesses?
Here are two models that predict different outcomes:

I think the first model is a much better model and the betting odds seem to agree with the first model. Betting odds are usually very accurate when it comes to elections.
Ben Carson's West Point Lie Will Probably End His Chances At Becoming President
To call GOP presidential candidate Ben Carsons rise to one of the two overwhelming frontrunners for president an enigma would be an understatement. Aside from the evangelicals who clearly eat up his religious rhetoric, I cant understand why anyone would think hes even remotely qualified to be our next president. Even as a doctor hes spread false information about Ebola, pushed blatantly misleading information about vaccines during a debate and believes that the theory of evolution is satanic.
As I joked with a buddy of mine, leave it to the GOP to find a brilliant neurosurgeon to run for president who doesnt seem to believe in science. Not only that, but nearly everything the man says is a lie. Even his stories of adolescent violence and a Popeyes restaurant robbery have come under some rather intense scrutiny considering the odd nature of the details involved and the fact that, at least at this point, theres almost no evidence of any of these events actually occurring. No childhood friend has come forward to corroborate his stories about his past, he says the family member he tried to stab has no desire to be made public and theres no police record of any robbery taking place at a Popeyes during the time he says the event occurred.
Well, Carson better get ready to face even more scrutiny as Politico reported today that his story about getting accepted to West Point was all a lie:
From Politico:
The academy has occupied a central place in Carsons tale for years. According to a story told in Carsons book, Gifted Hands, the then-17 year old was introduced in 1969 to Gen. William Westmoreland, who had just ended his command of U.S. forces in Vietnam, and the two dined together. That meeting, according to Carsons telling, was followed by a full scholarship to the military academy.
West Point, however, has no record of Carson applying, much less being extended admission.

The Jobs Report Is Even Better Than It Looks
FiveThirtyEight
By Ben Casselman
Snip>
What makes Fridays report significant, then, isnt that it suggests the job market has found a new gear. Rather, the October numbers are significant because they suggest that the previous two disappointing jobs reports were themselves outliers. The true pace of U.S. job growth may not be as good as Octobers numbers, but its probably better than Augusts or Septembers. We wont know for sure for several months, but the most likely explanation for Fridays numbers is that the U.S. job market is still where economists thought it was back before the August slowdown: in a state of steady, solid job growth.

Elephant Comes To The Rescue
Elephants have some of the most emotionally complex lives in the animal kingdom. If you need proof, look no further.
Thongsri is a 17-year-old elephant living at a sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and when she sees her caretaker in trouble, she does the only thing she knows how to do.
You cant watch this video and see anything but Thongsris genuine concern for her caretaker. She wasnt going to let anything happen to him.
