Good news

I learned last week that I get to keep my job and today I got to give my team the news that they are going to get to keep their jobs.

The company I work for is splitting and restructuring employees as they separate the business. Restructuring always equates to people loosing their jobs. My boss was one of the one that is loosing his job as part of this so, as they moved down the food chain, I was extremely worried. So much so that I was actively searching for a new job.

Last week I was asked to stay with the new company after the split and then today, I was given word that I could keep my team of employees. I couldn't wait to talk to each of them and give them the good news.

Now, I have to decide what to do with that job interview I have tomorrow. I just think how it could have been the other way, out of a job and no prospective offers in the wings.

A message to Brian Williams and all Main Stream Media reporters

I don't believe you, I have not believed anything any of you have said since you all lied to get us into war in Afghanistan.

Weather you were used are were part of the charade, you lost all credibility and have done nothing to restore it. You intentionally misled an entire nation and promoted the lies of a regime which took control under questionable means which of course you allowed to happen.

In the democratic republic, the media was supposed to be the guardians of the truth, the barrier between an administration or Congress that overstepped its boundaries. That is how the founding fathers intended it, that is the true purpose of the First Amendment, to protect the media.

You all failed at your duties, you failed the American People and you failed humanity.

How do you restore your credibility? Don't know if that is entirely possible. To begin, you can name those who were responsible for the lies that drove us to an needless, useless, endless war. If it stops with you, which I don't believe it does, then speak it, if it leads to dragging current and former leaders through the mud, then it must be done, they deserve it. You OWE Humanity and you owe history this.

Surprise! - Brian Williams NBC Anchor lied...

Brian Williams Admits He Never Came Under Fire in Iraq: "I Apologize"

After twelve years, Brian Williams is coming clean, admitting the helicopter he traveled in during NBC's coverage of the 2003 Iraq invasion never once came under fire, despite Williams' story to the contrary.

On Jan. 30, NBC Nightly News posted a video of Williams to Facebook, in which Williams recounts the story during a news segment. Williams references "a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of Iraq, when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG."

A user by the name of Lance Reynolds, who purported to have served in Iraq during the incident in question, subsequently commented on the video, writing, "Sorry dude, I don't remember you being on my aircraft."

Reynolds added, "I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened. Then I remember you guys taking back off in a different flight of Chinooks from another unit and heading to Kuwait to report your 'war story' to the Nightly News."

Willams responded to the comment via his verified account, writing, "To Joseph, Lance, Jonathan, Pate, Michael and all those who have posted: You are absolutely right and I was wrong.

Nancy Reagan refused to help dying Rock Hudson get AIDS treatment

Nancy Reagan refused to help Rock Hudson, one of the leading Hollywood stars of the 1950s and 1960s, as he sought treatment for AIDS from a pioneering doctor in Paris, it has been revealed.

Hudson, who kept his homosexuality secret while starring in a string of box-office hits with actors such as Elizabeth Taylor and Doris Day, flew to France in July 1985, during the last months of his life, to seek experimental treatment with the drug HPA-23 that was unavailable in the US.

But he collapsed at the Ritz hotel, and was taken to the American hospital in the French capital. His publicist contacted the White House – the Reagans were old friends – in an attempt to speed up a transfer to a military hospital to be seen by Dr Dominique Dormant, a French army doctor who had previously treated Hudson in secret.

But the commanding officer of the Percy military hospital in Clamart initially refused to admit Hudson because he was not a French citizen. According to documents published by BuzzFeed, Nancy Reagan, the US first lady, declined to help.

Hudson was eventually admitted to the hospital, but died in October 1985. He was the first high-profile celebrity whose death from complications relating to the illness was openly acknowledged, and the revelation that such a big star had AIDS helped raise awareness about the disease in the US and other western countries.

The long-term future of the nation’s electric grid is under threat from an unlikely source—

Energy Conserving American!

That is what the greedy power companies want you to think

That is the fear of some utility experts who say that as Americans use less power, electric companies won’t have the revenue needed to maintain sprawling networks of high-voltage lines and generating plants.

And if the companies raise rates too high to make up for declining sales volumes, customers will embrace even more energy-saving gizmos and solar panels, pushing down demand for grid power. The Edison Electric Institute, the trade group for investor-owned utilities, has warned that they could face a “death spiral.”


Since 2004, average residential electricity prices have jumped 39%, to 12.5 cents a kilowatt hour and prices for all users have jumped 36% to 10.42 cents, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Retail sales to homes and businesses still are less than they were in 2007, before the recession.

Even in parts of the country where the population has been growing, electricity sales have been anemic. Southern Co., for example, said that in the third quarter of 2014, residential accounts grew 0.7% in its four-state region—but total home electricity sales contracted 0.6%.

It's only going to get worse: States Consider Repealing Prevailing Wage Laws

Amid strong Republican gains in statehouses nationwide in recent years, debates over "right-to-work" legislation have generally been the most prominent union-related issues.

Union-heavy states Indiana and Michigan enacted such laws, which prohibit requirements that workers join a union as a condition of employment, in 2012. Now, lawmakers in those states and a handful of others are considering overhauling or eliminating another labor-supported policy: prevailing wage laws.

Prevailing wage laws require laborers on public works projects to be paid at the average wage — including benefits and overtime — of workers within that particular area. The Davis-Bacon Act has mandated such standards on federal projects since 1931, and many of the 32 current state prevailing wage laws have been on the books for decades.

‘Koch Primary’ Tests Hopefuls In the G.O.P.

WASHINGTON — When Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky went to Kansas last year to campaign for Gov. Sam Brownback, he quietly requested a private meeting with the oil billionaire Charles G. Koch in his Wichita headquarters.

The senator’s pitch: Of all the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates, he best reflects the views of Mr. Koch and his younger brother, David H. Koch.

Similarly, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas popped through Wichita in October for an audience he had requested, and he told the elder Mr. Koch that the Republican Party needed a grass-roots conservative like him to take back the White House.

And Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey has worked to cultivate a relationship with the younger Mr. Koch, stopping by his Manhattan office, calling him to talk politics and socializing with him, their wives included.



Perhaps no organization commands more deference in Republican politics nowadays than the sprawling operation established by the Koch brothers. And this week, the intense competition among Republicans for their embrace and attention will break out into the open. An invitation-only group of 2016 hopefuls will travel to a resort near Palm Springs, Calif., for the Koch brothers’ annual winter seminar, kicking off the so-called Koch primary.

Mr. Cruz, Mr. Paul and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have all received invitations to the event and are expected to attend. Other invited Republicans include Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, who is not expected to make it because of a scheduling conflict.
