While on a hunting safari last week, wildlife hunter Scott van Zyl disappeared on the bank of the Limpopo River in South Africa. He is now believed to have been eaten by crocodiles after human remains were found inside two animals.
The Telegraph reports that the professional hunter, who is known for killing elephants, lions, and other exotic animals, often organizes trips for foreign clients. He was last seen with a pack of dogs and a Zimbabwean tracker. Reportedly, Mr. van Zyl and the tracker left the truck and walked in different directions into the bush. Though the dogs and the Zimbabwean tracker returned, Mr. Van Zyl did not. In fact, his belongings remained in the vehicle.
For days, the area was scoured by rescue teams, helicopters, trackers, and divers. The last tracks of his show that he walked to the bank of the river; his backpack was found nearby. According to Sakkie Louwrens, a member of one of the search teams, it is most likely Mr. van Zyl was consumed by two Nile crocodiles.

If tRump wants to ban travel, he may want to start with anyone traveling to hunt endangered species.

How many members of Congress are willing to shout "you lie" when tRump speaks to them?

Assuming that he makes it to a State of the Union speech, it may be an epic opportunity.

If I were a member of Congress, I doubt I could help myself from keeping my mouth shut.

Aramis Ayala, Florida's first African-American elected state attorney, has been no stranger to racially charged insults, especially after she declared in March that she's not pursuing the death penalty for violent felony cases. For instance, in April, she received a noose in the mail.

But now footage has emerged where two white police officers are having a tough time explaining why they pulled over Ayala, the Orlando-area prosecutor on June 19 at about 8:15 p.m.
------------------
They do this in the South all the time. I was working as a teacher, and went to a school basketball game. There was a family emergency, and I had to drive one of the players home (he was black). I got pulled over near the school and the officer literally asked me why there was a black kid in my car!

I explained I was a teacher and showed him my school ID, and I was taking the student home. He said I didn't do anything wrong so I was free to go.

That was years ago, but it hasn't changed much. They pulled over Ayala because she was black.

Fists, bottles flew after man tried to open door on Seattle-Beijing flight, charges say

SEATTLE — A 23-year-old Florida man on a Thursday flight from Seattle to Beijing tried to open an exit door on the airborne Boeing 767, sparking a wild brawl with flight attendants and passengers who used wine bottles and zip ties to subdue the combative man, according to a federal complaint.

Meanwhile, Hudek allegedly punched one of the attendants twice in the face, hit a male passenger in the head with a red dessert-wine bottle and punched him several times.

A flight attendant grabbed two wine bottles and hit Hudek with both, breaking one over his head

I think this is interesting, and it's here in Florida of course...

....some of our craziest RW "friends" have moved to the Villages. We've visited once, and even though there are pockets of resistance I didn't like it at all. At any rate, if you don't know, the Villages is a very conservative haven for upper crust retirees with the houses, stores, and entertainment of an entire town built from scratch. I'll throw in some links of tRump at the Villages. Many residents don't drive (cars), and they get around the town on golf carts. Some of the carts are pretty high end too.

THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Five people have been arrested after a police raid of a home in a central Florida retirement community uncovered drugs and golf cart parts, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies raided the home early Wednesday after receiving reports of suspicious activity, including possible drug use and golf cart thefts, at the home located in The Villages, a sprawling senior community with a population of more than 150,000. A SWAT team executed a search warrant obtained after a confidential informant helped orchestrate three drug buys there, reports the Village News.

Drugs were in "plain sight" in the home, deputies said, and investigators uncovered golf cart parts including windshields, seat cushions, wheels and tires in the garage in attic, reports CBS affiliate WKMG. Brannen told the Village News the property may have been used as a golf cart chop-shop.

Golf carts -- many souped-up and customized -- are a popular method of transportation around the massive community known for its golf courses, CBS News' David Begnaud reported in 2015.

I didn't see this anywhere else...the COVFEFE Act!

http://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/337416-covefe-act-would-make-social-media-a-presidential-record

COVFEFE Act would make social media a presidential record

Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) introduced legislation Monday to classify presidential social media posts — including President Trump's much-discussed tweets — as presidential records.

The Communications Over Various Feeds Electronically for Engagement (COVFEFE) Act, which has the same acronym as an infamous Trump Twitter typo last month, would amend the Presidential Records Act to include "social media."

Presidential records must be preserved, according to the Presidential Records Act, which would make it potentially illegal for the president to delete tweets.

Here's Video of Some Lunatic Towing a Flaming Boat on a Miami-Dade Highway

To live in Miami is to constantly feel as if you're trapped in an abandoned David Lynch film. Seminude men with face tattoos rollerblade through traffic in broad daylight, dilapidated buildings could be infested with anything from peacocks to bears to trained circus seals, and flaming boats just sometimes drive down the highway and everyone acts like things are cool.

Earlier this week, an anonymous Imgur user posted a GIF of a navy-blue pickup truck towing a boat on a random highway while the boat spit gigantic flames behind him. A Redditor who goes by iBleedOrange then spotted the clip on the website and posted it to Reddit's r/WTF forum, where the clip then blew up, no pun intended.

Offensive signs cause stir in St. Petersburg's Old Northeast neighborhood

ST. PETERSBURG — Behind the fuchsia flowers and the bubbling fountain, the signs broadcast their messages in black capitals: No fags. No Jews. No infidels. No retards. The last sign, an allusion to President Donald Trump's campaign slogan, bore only the words "… Great again!"

On Saturday evening, the signs appeared in front of 303 27th Ave. N. Neighbors bristled in response. They posted frantically on the neighborhood forum, trying to figure out how to get the signs taken down. Cars doubled back past the house as people stopped to gawk and snap photos. By Sunday evening, the signs were gone, but for the neighborhood, the damage had been done.

City code allows "free speech signs" on private property and the city cannot differentiate based on content. City officials declined to comment on whether the signs violated any standards for hate speech.
