Two people protesting a KKK rally were stabbed with a flag pole, reportedly by a member of the Klan

Two people protesting a KKK rally were stabbed with a flag pole, reportedly by a member of the Klan. A third person, possibly a KKK member, was also stabbed at the rally in Anaheim, California, where about 50 protestors showed up Saturday morning hours before it was scheduled to begin. One of the victims is reportedly in serious or critical condition.

Students chant 'Trump! Trump!' after basketball loss to more racially diverse high school

The last name of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump apparently has been turned into a racial insult for some people.

High school students in Des Moines, Iowa, this week chanted "Trump! Trump!" after a boys' basketball game. The chanters were from Dallas Center-Grimes High, which has a largely white population. Their school's team had just lost to Perry High School, which has a more diverse student population.

Trump has made derogatory comments about illegal immigrants and has pledged to build a wall along the entire U.S.-Mexico border if he is elected.

Perry student Kevin Lopez noted in a letter to the Perry Chief newspaper that the billionaire's name has been chanted at the team three other times this season.

Mr. Hitler appears to be tapping into populist resentment and patriotism

.......it isn’t only the checks and balances in government that are necessary to keep the republic. It is the Fourth Estate, i.e. the press, it is the country’s leaders and it is the general public who stand between the republic and the rise of a Mussolini.

The notables have been shown to be useless. Donald Trump should have been kicked out of the Republican Party the moment he began talking about violating the Constitution. The first time he hinted about assaulting the journalists covering his rallies, he should have been shown the door. When he openly advocated torture (“worse than waterboarding”), he should have been ushered away. When he began speaking of closing houses of worship, he should have been expelled. He has solemnly pledged to violate the First, Fourth and Eighth Amendments of the Constitution, at the least. If someone’s platform is unconstitutional, it boggles the mind that a major American party would put him or her up for president. How can he take the oath of office with a straight face? The party leaders were afraid he’d mount a third-party campaign. But who knows how that would have turned out? Someone with power needs to say that Trump is unacceptable and to define him out of respectable politics, the same way David Duke is treated (Trump routinely retweets Duke fellow-travellers).

.........

It has been a dreadful performance by the press and by party leaders. They are speaking in such a way as to naturalize the creepy, weird and completely un-American positions Trump has taken.

This is how the dictators came to power in the 1920s and 1930s. Good people remained silent or acquiesced. People expressed hope that something good would come of it. Mussolini would wring the laziness out of Italy and make the trains run on time.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked by a lady after the Constitutional Convention what sort of government the US had, he said, “A Republic, Madame, if you can keep it.”

You have to wonder if we can keep it.

Dr. Frankenstein turned & ran. He’d go to the House. There, at least, he’d be safe doing nothing.

Dr. Frankenstien frantically nailed the planks into place, trying to seal his laboratory off from the rest of the world.
What would happen if the Monster got out? What if people realized he had created it?

The pounding from the inside increased in intensity. The Monster roared. It sounded like “Yuge!”

Dr. Frankenstein wondered what that might mean, then resumed hammering on the nails.

But the door gave way and the boards he was trying to nail in place began to bend under the Monster’s fists.

Rage. That is all the doctor saw in the contorted, strangely orange face of his creation.

“Yuge!”

Splinters began flying from the boards.

Dr. Frankenstein turned his back and ran. He’d go to the House. There, at least, he’d be safe doing nothing.

When the questions came, the doctor would deny everything. He’d blame his neighbor, Mr. Obama.

Yes, that would work. That would deflect attention away from his own nefarious activities, spread over the preceding decades, that had led to this catastrophe.

It was now up to others to deal with his Creation.

He wished them luck.

St. Louis Student, 9, Can’t Attend School Because He’s Black

Edmund Lee, a third-grader at a charter school in south St. Louis, can’t attend the school next year because his family moved to the suburbs, from which, an archaic law states, black students can’t attend city schools.

Nine-year-old Edmund Lee is a great student. He’s a third-grader at Gateway Science Academy, a charter school in south St. Louis. He’s been a student there since kindergarten, and he wants to stay there, but an archaic law on the city’s books won’t allow him to attend the school anymore because he’s black.

Everything was fine as long as Edmund and his family lived in the city of St. Louis. But their recent move to the suburbs means that Edmund can’t attend his old school. Because of the way that St. Louis’ laws are written, suburban kids cannot attend city schools if they are black.

“When I read the guidelines, I was in shock,” Edmund’s mother, La’Shieka White, told Fox 2 Now. “I was crying.”

The law was passed decades ago and was meant to address school segregation.
