Depressing Miami Herald front page today-Romney ++ by 5 in FL

HUGE front page story- Romney still ahead in FLA- big graphic- lots of details- very very upsetting way to start the day. Thank goodness for Nate Silver and Princeton and the other polls showing a different story but it is VERY discouraging. Maybe the result will mean more Dems voting today and Tuesday. Going out to make calls or canvas or do something to work off the anxiety.

A new Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald poll shows Mittt Romney beating President Obama 45-51 percent in Florida.

BY MARC CAPUTO MCAPUTO@MIAMIHERALD.COM

Mitt Romney has maintained a solid lead over President Barack Obama in the latest Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald poll of likely voters who favor the Republican by six percentage points.

Romney’s strengths: independent voters and more crossover support from Democrats relative to the Republicans who back Obama, according to the survey conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.

Romney’s crossover appeal is fueled by strong support in rural North Florida, a conservative bastion where a relatively high percentage of Democrats often vote Republican in presidential election years.

“I’m pretty convinced Romney’s going to win Florida,” said Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker, who conducted the 800-likely voter survey from Tuesday through Thursday.

“Will it be fivepoints? Maybe. Will it be three points? Possibly,” Coker said, of what he expects Romney’s margin will be. “I don’t think it’s going to be a recount … I don’t think we’re going to have a recount-race here.”

Romney is winning handily among men, marginally losing with women voters and has outsized support among non-Hispanic whites. He’s essentially winning on the issues as well: the economy, Medicare, foreign policy and looking out for the middle-class.

Miami Herald Endorses President Obama

"OUR OPINION: Romney’s contradictory positions raise questions about his intentions"

Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/10/26/3068819_p2/obama-for-president.html#storylink=cpy

Snip

"In the end, Mr. Obama’s policies across the board — the environment, social policy, taxes and immigration — offer a more generous vision for America. The issues he has fought for, coupled with the lingering doubts about Mr. Romney’s persona and his true intentions, make this a clear choice. In the race for president, The Miami Herald recommends BARACK OBAMA."

That makes 3 major newspapers in Florida so far I believe- Tampa Bay Times, Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald- were there any others?

Full Page Ad by Billy Graham in Miami Herald today

Urging voters to support the nation of Israel, sanctity of life and the biblical definition of marriage between an man and a woman. "Vote for biblical values this November 6 and pray that America will remain one nation under God."

Guess separation of Church and State is not a concept Rev. Graham believes in- never mind the rest...

Sigh.

If it's true that the Dems have Mitt's taxes

I'm thinking this week would be a good time to release them. IMO.....

Pre-Debate Foreplay-- who's watching which channel?

I'm on MSNBC but am about to start taking turns with Current and CNN. It's just so much fun seeing how excited Rachel Maddow is- she is just so deliciously enthusiastic! Makes me smile (and tonight, that's a welcome relief).

Anyone else watching Rachel and the deficit story?

Just amazing. If anyone can find a link to that graphic- please post it. Robert Gibbs comes next.

I love you Joe Biden. He is knocking it out of the park.

Now we are reminded of why he is the perfect pick for a VP.
