Ivanka Trump says she passed up World Bank post

White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump says her father asked her if she was interested in taking the job of World Bank chief but she passed on it.

The president's daughter said Wednesday in an interview with the Associated Press she was happy with her current role in the administration. She spoke during a trip to Africa to promote a global women's initiative.

The elder Trump daughter says her father raised the job with her as "a question" and she told him she was "happy with the work" she's doing.

I'm not exactly sure what Ivanka thinks she is actually doing in the administration, but I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that she prefers that to being World Bank Chief.

Tucker Carlson guest, Mark Steyn, says Notre Dame fire due to "godlessness" in France

Tucker Carlson guest Mark Steyn reacts to Notre Dame fire by calling the French "Godless" and portraying France as overrun by Muslims

MARK STEYN (GUEST: Christendom is in retreat in Europe, and in France particularly - France has actually quite an aggressive belief in secularism and according to some polls, the French are even by the standards of the modern Western world among the most Godless people in that sense. Three years ago, in that terrible summer that began with the Nice truck killings, when it seemed as if the entire French state was unraveling, I went to Rouen cathedral for the funeral of Hamel, the French priest who had his throat cut at mass. And I went to the basilica of Saint-Denis, which is in the north of Paris where the French kings are buried.

And basically is a Christian museum in the heart of what is now a Muslim suburb in effect. There is no sense of Christianity outside of the walls of that cathedral. And it was after that that I went to then Notre Dame because you do have the sense that a living, breathing faith is just becoming actually a museum. An art gallery. A storage facility. And the French who were on the streets in tears this evening, on the streets of Paris - I don't think they're mourning just history or architecture or art or culture. They are mourning something else. But what that something else post-Christian France can't quite identify it. That's really the conundrum. When Monsieur Macron says we're going to rebuild it - rebuild it for what? When people talk about oh the heart of France has died - what is in the soul of France? What is this? Is it just the building or something more?

I just received a donation request from my Senator, Tom Cotton. Here's my reply:

Yes, Tom, I saw your note. There is no way I can support a person, especially a veteran like yourself, who did not defend a fellow veteran, namely Senator John McCain, when he is disparaged by the President of the United States, who, by the way, claimed he had bone spurs so he wouldn't have to serve. For the President to say such things about a man after his death is reprehensible.

I sent you an email asking for your opinion on this matter, but you didn't see fit to answer them. I assumed from your silence that you are OK with a draft dodger who denigrates a man who served his country honorably during war, who was held as a POW for over 5 years and who served his country honorable in Congress for many years.

My brother, 3 sons, a grandson and granddaughter have all served in the United States Armed Services. I feel that President Trump's disrespect for Senator McCain also shows a lack of respect for their service.

Therefore, I will not be sending you or your campaign any money and I will also be telling all my family and friends how I feel about your inexcusable silence about the treatment that Senator McCain received from President Trump. In my mind that makes you just as guilty as he. I'm ashamed to have such a coward represent me in the Senate.

I can hardly wait until you are voted out of office.

I don't expect he will actually read the email and I certainly don't expect a response, but it sure as hell felt good to vent a little.

ETA: Please disregard the typos. I was seeing too much red to proof read efficiently.

Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only....

The man is an imbecile. Everything he does is aimed to hurt or, at the very least, inconvenience his "enemies" (which is anyone who does not agree with him 100%).

Fox News posted erroneous poll numbers for Trump

https://twitter.com/EdKrassen/status/1116340390200786945?s=20

More info here: https://hillreporter.com/trump-tweets-a-terribly-incorrect-fox-poll-graphic-30647

“I’m the Director of Georgetown Politics,” wrote Elleithee, “and this graphic is incorrect. The Battleground Poll shows 58% approval on the economy. But it shows only 58% approval on the economy. The 55% number is the president’s unfavorable rating (only 40% favorable).”
