Cold hearted Mike Pence refuses to pardon a man wrongly convicted and proven innocent

n a growing list of heartless Mike Pence actions, the Indiana governor has now denied a pardon for a man wrongly convicted and now proven innocent.

A BuzzFeed report, details the sad history of Keith Cooper, who served 10 years of a 40-year sentence after being misidentified. In 2008 shooting victim Michael Kershner and his mother, Nona Canell filmed statements and admitted they were wrong. This came after new DNA evidence was found and a jail informant admitted he lied. Canell asked investigators multiple times to see a lineup of potential suspects because she couldn’t be sure. An Elkhart Police detective promised her that they had “the right guy.” They didn’t.

“We are really disappointed in Governor Pence’s failure to provide justice to an innocent man. It’s clear that he has punted the petition to the next Governor because it’s election season,” Cooper’s attorney Elliot Slosar said.

Pence’s office said in a statement it hasn’t exactly made a final decision but slammed Cooper’s attorneys claiming they needed to do a better job.

NYT might be sitting on more tax documents - from Raw Story

Uh oh: New York Times reporter hints more bombshell Trump tax documents are coming

The author of a stunning New York Times report on Trump’s tax returns suggested on Sunday that more bombshell stories could be coming in the near future.

Over the weekend, the Times reported that a $916 million loss declared on Trump’s 1995 tax returns could have allowed the billionaire to avoid paying federal income taxes for nearly two decades.

Speaking to CNN’s Brian Stelter on Sunday, Times reporter Susanne Craig explained how Trump’s former accountant was able to verify tax documents that had been provided by an anonymous source.

Stelter noted that Fox News had accused the Times of trying to “take down Donald Trump” with shoddy reporting.

Video Shows Carolina Cop Violently Arrest Black Man For Sitting On His Porch

City council members in Greensboro, North Carolina voted this week to strip the law enforcement credentials of a police officer who is accused of violently arresting a man sitting on his porch after body camera footage of the arrest was made public.

The council voted unanimously Monday to permanently sanction Officer Travis Cole for using excessive force during the June arrest. The body camera footage shows Cole roughly throwing Dejuan Yourse to the floor of the porch and punching him as Yourse waited for his mom to come home and let him into the house, according to local news WREG.

I'm really looking forward to the Pence/Kaine debate Tues

Pence is so crazy out of the mainstream (esp with his cremation and burial law for aborted and miscarried fetuses). He once described himself as "Rush Limbough on decaf" - how gross is that. God I hope Kaine kicks his ass.

Everything you need to know about the 2016 vice presidential debate

Who will moderate the vice presidential debate?

Elaine Quijano of CBS News will be the debate’s sole moderator. She is a correspondent for CBS News and an anchor for CBSN, the digital streaming network for CBS. This election, Quijano covered 2016 debates and both the Republican and Democratic national conventions for CBS. In 2011, Quijano revealed in a CBS Evening News report that the White House did not send condolence letters to the families of military personnel who had committed suicide. That report spurred the Obama administration to reverse that policy.

Quijano, a Chicago-area native of Filipino descent, is also the first Asian American moderator for a general election debate.

What is the format of the vice presidential debate?

The debate is divided into nine 10 minute segments. Quijano will start each segment with an opening question and then Kaine and Pence will each have two minutes to respond. Quijano will also use the leftover time in each segment to dive deeper into the discussion topic.
