Don't get your flu shot high on your arm

Vaccine Injury Payouts Rise
The U.S. government is about to make it easier for claimants to be compensated when vaccinations are improperly injected
A government program that pays people hurt by vaccinations recently doled out more than $1 million to Latasha George, a Louisiana nurse. Katherine Brooks, an Indiana emergency-room doctor, received $92,500. Roberta Livolsi, a retired Pennsylvania housekeeper, got $75,000.

All were deemed victims of the flu shot—but their injuries had nothing to do with what was in the syringe.

The patients were among dozens that have been diagnosed with “Sirva,” or shoulder injury related to vaccine administration. They were hurt by how the shot was given, not the contents of the vaccine. It is a growing phenomenon for which U.S. health officials increasingly have been awarding compensation and is now being added to a no-fault system intended to expedite claims.

Sirva generally is caused by an injection improperly shot too high on the arm, Dr. Atanasoff says. This can injure the musculoskeletal structures of the shoulder, such as tendons, ligaments or bursa, causing sudden shoulder pain.

Where is our stuff? It's on ships that can't dock

Hanjin ships, cargo and sailors stranded at sea

"Just imagine, there are some 540,000 containers with cargo caught up at sea," explains Lars Jensen, chief executive of Sea Intelligence Consulting in Copenhagen.

That means that a lot of the goods en route to the US are geared at the busy year-end holidays and any disruption will be a major headache for the companies that have entrusted their products into the hauls of the Hanjin freighters.

Ships, cargo and crew might find themselves stuck for weeks, if not months, without knowing when and where their current voyage will end.

Mika goes Nuts - finally admits her show talks about nothing - video

Mika Finally Realizes Her Show Talks Nothing But Trump Nonsense: Goes Nuts

“Look at this conversation! We’re talking about nothing! We’re talking about a guy who means nothing, who says nothing, who has no opinions. We’re talking about a speech, that will probably end up being something that he doesn’t mean.”

“I don’t know what we’ve talked about, honestly. Nothing!”

Ground squirrel coming in my doggie door at night

I don't want to trap and let her go yet because she has 4 babies so I'm leaving lots of bird seeds etc. outside the doggie door.

Do ground squirrels go up trees? I don't know if it is the same squirrel but I kept thinking I was hearing a loud bird and I got out my binoculars today and it's a squirrel sounding just like a bird - went on for about half an hour.

The babies are cute - I can see them from my upstairs window - they come out of the hole and sit kind of like prairie dogs always facing
west.

There is lots of chicken food also outside for the squirrel so I don't know why he started coming in. I also have a small fish pond so he has all he needs out there. Variety or maybe because he can????

I guess it's called country living - about three yrs ago a raccoon came in my doggie door.
