womanofthehills's JournalTrump floats rolling back food safety regulations - OMG -
In a fact sheet posted online Thursday, the campaign highlighted a number of "specific regulations to be eliminated" under the GOP nominee's economic plan, including what they called the "FDA Food Police."
The FDA Food Police, which dictate how the federal government expects farmers to produce fruits and vegetables and even dictates the nutritional content of dog food, it read.
The rules govern the soil farmers use, farm and food production hygiene, food packaging, food temperatures and even what animals may roam which fields and when, the statement continued. "It also greatly increased inspections of food 'facilities,' and levies new taxes to pay for this inspection overkill."

Nazi Ties & Agent Orange: the Real Bayer - Monsanto Merger Story - WILL RAISE FOOD PRICES ACROSS US
(WILL RAISE FOOD PRICES ALL ACROSS US) - My 2 favorite progressives - Thom Hartman and Mike Papantonio (wow! you gotta love Pap - he always tells it as it is)
Mike: Very. Very concerned. There are two huge issues with this Bayer Monsanto merger. The first is, that its going to raise food prices all across the United States and even beyond our boarders. Farmers have already experienced a 300% price increase in recent years, on everything from seeds to fertilizer, all of which are controlled by Monsanto, and ever forecaster is predicting that these prices are going to climb even higher because of this merger. Were going to have this massive price hike, at a time when 14 million Americans have already been unable to provide food for their families, and then were going to have this ethical problem thats plagued both of these corporations for decades.

Dakota Access Pipeline will make 200 river crossings
The pipeline was originally meant to run near the city of Bismarck, which has an overwhelmingly white population, before objections resulted in it being relocated to a site near Native American land.

Who's Funding the Dakota Access Pipeline? Bank of America, HSBC, UBS, Goldman Sachs,
and Wells Fargo
Macmillan interviewed by Amy Goodman
AMY GOODMAN: And explain what the banks are. Which banks are they? And how are they involved?
HUGH MACMILLAN: I can. Citibank is the bank thats been running the books on the project, and thats the bank that beat the bushes and got other banks to join in. So, we have Wells Fargo, BNP Paribas, SunTrust, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Mizuho Bank, TD Securities, ABN AMRO Capital, DNB First Bankand thats actually a bank based in Philly; its not the DNB Bank based in Norway, which is actually provided several hundred million to the Energy Transfer family separatelyand ICBC London, SMBC Nikko Securities and Société Générale.

Texas Newspaper Endorses Hillary, First Democrat Since 1940’s –
There is only one serious candidate on the presidential ballot in November: We recommend Hillary Clinton, the papers editorial board declared.
We dont come to this decision easily. This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for this nations highest office since before World War II if youre counting, thats more than 75 years and nearly 20 elections.
The newspaper touted Clintons government experience and said shes demonstrated an ability to work with Republicans.
The Morning News took Trump to task for allegedly taking American voters down a dark and angry path.
He plays on fear exploiting base instincts of xenophobia, racism and misogyny to bring out the worst in all of us, rather than the best, the editorial board concluded.
The Dallas newspaper reminded Clinton that its got beefs with the Democratic Partys over-reliance on government and regulation to remedy the countrys ills.

Should There Be No Moderators at All at Presidential Debates? Trump Thinks So
Because of this media ridicule of Lauer, Trump said that he now believes there should be no moderators at the debate.
I think maybe we should have no moderator. Let Hillary and I sit there and just debate. Because I think the system is being rigged so its gonna be a very unfair debate.

Crop Damage from Illegal herbicide used on MOnsanto' Xtend soy- Dicamba drift killed farmers crops -
"If the EPA doesn't do something, that means every farmer needs to buy Xtend to protect themselves from their neighbor," Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. analyst Jonas Oxgaard told Bloomberg."
Missouri appears to have suffered the most. According to the Southeast Missourian, the state's department of agriculture has received 125 complaints of dicamba damage on more than 40,000 crop acres.
Missouri farmers have reported damage on a number of crops including peaches, tomatoes, cantaloupes, watermelons, rice, cotton, peas, peanuts, alfalfa and soybeans, the EPA said.
However, some farmers feel they have no choice but to buy Monsanto's dicamba-tolerant crops just to protect their crops from drift. As Bloomberg described:
For folks like Landon Hayes, who grows earlier-generation soybeans in Campbell, Missouri, the consequences have been costly. He says 500 acres of his crops were damaged this summer by stray wisps of dicamba. And now he feels compelled to buy the engineered Monsanto seeds to avoid injury next season.
"They knew that people would buy it just to protect themselves," Hayes says. "You're pretty well going to have to. It's a good marketing strategy, I guess. It kind of sucks for us."

Mexico is to consider a proposal to revoke its treaties with the US, including the 1848 agreement that transferred half its territory to Washington if Donald Trump is elected and tries to make the USs southern neighbour pay for a border wall.
