Honeycombe8's JournalTrump in a corner: This is what you get...
This is what you get, when you follow the advice of Rush Limpballs and Ann Coulter, two loud mouth media yappers who have never worked in government and whose jobs are to yap in media and get people worked up and angry, and have never had to rally the support of the American public to their views.
We have a President who takes orders from the likes of these two characters.
Trump is fund raising off tonight's press address (from CNN)
The Trump campaign sent an email to his supporters this afternoon, asking to help raise $500,000 today.
"I want to know who stood with me when it mattered most so Ive asked my team to send me a list of EVERY AMERICAN PATRIOT who donates to the Official Secure the Border Fund," the email said, citing the President.

I am lovin' that the Mueller investigation is off the radar for a short while.
I am lovin' that the Mueller investigation is off the radar for a while. So it can proceed without interference, quietly churning in the background. Then boom. Something unexpected will happen.
K.D. Lang - Halleluyah
A beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen's Halleluyah, but one of the best voices in recent years. This was just a couple of years ago, but she's still got it.
In honor of Maxine Waters...
Another post here about Maxine Waters reminded me of this music video, which was done in honor of Maxine Waters after her famous "reclaiming my time" insistence at a hearing. When Rep. Waters was on The View, they brought this guy forward to do his song, and Rep. Waters rocked along with him, thoroughly getting a kick out of his rendition of her "reclaiming my time." She's going to be Chairman of the Finance Committee! Don't you just love that? Enjoy.
Ever wonder why Trump's base stays with him, despite his serious flaws?
Ever wonder why Trump's base stays with him, even though he's bad to the bone? I grew up listening to this and other songs from classic Rogers & Hammerstein hits. This song from the movie "Carousel," which reflected the total passivity and loyalty of some women in those days, sort of explains the mindset of many Trumpers, I think (except we need to add a dash of hatred for "others" in the mix, that is not in the song).
Common sense may tell you
That the ending may be sad
And now's the time to break and run away.
But what's the use of wondering
If the ending will be sad
He's your fella and you love him
There's nothing more to say.
A Christmas tweet from Betty Bowers: Baby Jesus, the invader
https://twitter.com/BettyBowers/status/1074348960645558272Damn every single person who voted for Trump.
Ever since he took office, the country has been in crisis mode, and the country is going down the hole. The environment, the National Parks being drilled for oil, our foreign policy, children in cages (at least one child died, others got sick), hatred, the rise of white supremacy, a record high of gun deaths and mass shootings, huge tax cuts for the rich that adds $1.5 Trillion to our debt, the damage to the country's reputation, job layoffs, a probable upcoming recession, deregulation, investigations right and left, daily lies about anything and everything, greed and corruption at an unprecedented level, the infiltration of Russians in our democracy, brutality normalized, vulgarity normalized, the loss of dignity of our administration and leaders, using our country as a piggybank for personal gain.... And the latest evil: talk of ousting Vietnam refugees who came over after the Vietnam War.
I believe the Russians hacked the election, in addition to the thousands of trolls pushing fake stories. But that would not have elected Trump, if Americans had not voted for him. It was CLEAR before the election what kind of person he was. CLEAR.
Damn every single rotten person who hated Hillary Clinton or Democrats or "them libruls" so much, or wanted a big tax cut no matter what, that they voted for someone like Trump. Damn them, each and every one.
Bloomberg and his possibility of running
He backed 25 Democrats in the mid-terms, and 21 of them won (most of them women). Impressive. He donated $100 Million for the mid-terms.
The Trump team all set to blame others for possible upcoming recession.
I've been saying since the huge, deficit-increasing GOP tax cut bill, that a recession is likely in the near future. That's because deregulation (which the Republicans also did) + a huge tax cut bill for the wealthy (which cuts revenue and increases the deficit, in this case by $1.5 Trillion) = recession (IMO).
Now that the stock market is tanking, and TODAY OFFICIALLY ENTERED CORRECTION TERRITORY (I heard on MSNBC this morning), and with recession seeming to be much more possible, the Trump is at-the-ready with its explanations, all geared to whistle calls to his base on who to blame: The Fed's interest rate hikes.
I recently read a prediction that if a recession occurs, Trump and his team would blame the Fed and the Democrats. They also tried to blame Obama for the Republican Great Recession, too.
***"The only thing that really worries me about the economy right now is what the Fed is doing," says the "Trumponomics" co-author.
***"The Fed is what's going to put us in the next recession if they keep raising rates," Stephen Moore says.
***The Fed is expected to raise interest rates again next week. But the market is now putting low odds on any hikes next year.

Notice the statement, "The only thing that really worries me about the economy right now is what the Fed is doing"? He's not worried about all the layoffs piling up, like GM and Verizon and others. Or the tanking stock market. Or the bad tariff tricks the President is pulling. Or including tax incentives in the tax cut bill for companies to offshore their businesses. He's not worried about anything that is related to any of his former boss's policies or actions.
A walk down Memory Lane of what Trump thinks about recessions, in case anyone is under the impression he CARES about the harm done to people in recessions:
In 2006, Trump said regarding a crash: I sort of hope that happens because then people like me would go in and buy. https://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/trump-housing-collapse-228708
In 2007 Trump said, People have been talking about the end of the cycle for 12 years, and I'm excited if it is, he told the Globe and Mail in March of 2007. Ive always made more money in bad markets than in good markets. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/trump-2007-i-m-excited-housing-market-crash-n578761
I didn't find it on the internet, but I heard a rally speech in his campaign where he states that he loves recessions because he can buy stuff for cheap.
