Reading about Mnuchin’s manure gift reminded me of a similar incident here in Colorado.
About ten years ago a bit of dried dog poop was wrapped in a campaign mailer and delivered to the front door of the candidate’s campaign office. Our county DA, a Republican, took offense at the offal and brought charges, and he maintained that the action had nothing whatsoever to do with his being a campaign manager for said candidate, also a Republican. Long story short, the DA spent a bit over $100K on the prosecution, and the jury took about fifteen seconds to return a verdict of not guilty, all this in a deep red county.
Having lost that case in rather spectacular fashion, the DA went on to get himself smacked by the state’s supreme court for illegally confiscating and perusing the tax returns of Hispanic taxpayers (ostensibly in search of illegal aliens). So what happens to a DA who so glaringly screws up? He goes to Congress, of course!
Ken Buck, why don’t you call whatever prosecutor in California gets the manure case and give them the benefit of your expertise in such matters? No doubt they’d appreciate it.

Trying to watch the "Kingston Trio" Christmas program on PBS, the audio is all messed up. Can't hear at all when they're talking, and on many of the songs you can hear the harmony way over the melody. Bummage!

at least, not yet.
Been having a faint multicolored square, about a half inch square, showing up in the middle of the screen when I open some threads. Doesn't always show up, but it sure as heck doesn't belong.
First time it popped in, like an idiot I clicked on it and the whole screen just went black. Cursor was the only thing visible. I hit escape a couple of times, then the screen came back with the page I'd been reading, then it went black again, then came back with my home screen as though I'd just restarted.
Weird, or what?
