Good to see HRC (on Maddow right now)

And can't help contemplating how differently Ukraine's history would have unfolded with her in the oval office instead of Putin's toy.

Poot walk

Question for Mitch McConnell:

In light of your condemnation of Putin, will you and your caucus be returning the millions of dollars your PAC happily took from Russia?

Sorry, Mitch, can't hear you over all the laughter and loud as-iffing.

Corinne's van has arrived!

A while back I asked DUers for help in getting a van for my sister-in-law, https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216097080
And DUers responded with breathtaking generosity!
The van has arrived, and modifications are being made for
the wheelchair ramp.
Next, the kit will be installed that will make it possible for
her to drive.
She and my brother are profoundly grateful, as am I.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

Sound off?

Is there a switch that can turn off the extremely annoying voiceover narration at the Olympics? Especially during the figure skating, where the invisible speaker talks over the music and the commentators -- they're talking about how skate position helps an element, the inane narrator blocks them with "she holds her arms over her head". gritch gritch gritch

Klobuchar v Cotton

On Cspan 2 --

Amy Klobuchar is seething at Tom Cotton over his holds on justice department nominees. She looks ready to grab him by the ear and drag him out to go full pissed-off mom on him. Go for it.

First time for everything, yes?

Switched over to Cspan2 to see what was happening in the Senate. As often happens, they were mid-vote and many were just milling around and talking. I was about to switch back when I noticed something I'd never seen in the Senate, namely a senator sporting a significant TP tail. When he approached the desk to give his vote one of his colleagues whispered to him, and he quickly turned and reached behind himself and grabbed the offending paper. He wadded it up and turned to toss it into a wastebasket (I hope) by the desk, but those sitting there cringed and leaned away from him. Another colleague let him know that he hadn't gotten all of it, and he took off up the stairs, his hand reaching up under the back of his jacket and missing the tail by a mile. I couldn't tell who it was, and there was some bit of sympathy. At least when it happened to me it wasn't on television, and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I suspect the poor guy was a GOPer, but only because Ted Cruz would have already made a speech about it otherwise. . .
