A twenty-page lease seemed a bit excessive when I first moved into this place a dozen years and four management companies ago. I just signed a lease renewal that is more than fifty pages, and every page required either initials or full signature. Quite a change from my first apartment that had an ocean view, and the lease was half a page.

While watching a rerun of Judge Jackson's confirmation, I noticed (belatedly) that even the Senate floor workers were on their feet applauding -- while the pouting GOP contingent skulked out the door.

At the very least, those workers didn't seem to mind the mass exodus from one side of the chamber ...
