99th_Monkey's JournalMr. Snowden now being smeared: as "a grandiose narcissist who deserves to be in prison"
Clearly, the vicious dis-informational demonization of Edward Snowden has officially begun:
In the New Yorker no less. Sure didn't take long, did it?

Quite honestly, I find myself starting to "edit" my own comments on DU
because I KNOW they are subject to public scrutiny at the very least, which means
that the evil forces behind this insidious tyranny that keeps morphing into shape before
our very eyes, can use every utterance as "evidence" that will never see a courtroom,
but which might actually get me locked up or worse, at some point down the road,
where all the cans have been kicked.
Bill Mayer takes Obama to the woodshed on the Pot issue
And very effectively I might add.
Why is there not a DU Forum for Marijuana Legalization
Medical Marijuana, the Perpetually Failed War on Drugs, and the set of issues
surrounding this?
I was in process of posting this OP, and looked and looked for such a forum,
where I could post it where those likely to be most interested would be sure
to at least see it; but alas, could not find one.

By what process are DU Forums established? If there isn't such a forum already
(maybe there is one and I simply failed to find it), what would it take to start
one?
Thanks for any light you can shed on this for me and others.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg: Medical marijuana one of the great hoaxes of all time

New York City Michael Bloomberg lashed out at the medical marijuana community during his weekly radio show on Friday.
Medical, my foot, Bloomberg told WOR-AM host John Gambling. There is no medical. This is one of the great hoaxes of all times. The bottom line is, Im told marijuana is much stronger today than it was 20, 30 years ago.
The mayors statements came a day after the state assembly approved a bill decriminalizing small amounts of the drug.
Bloomberg quickly added that he had no personal experience smoking marijuana in recent years. But as Gothamist noted on Friday, he has smoked the drug in his past; in 2002 he said he regretted telling New York magazine, You bet I did. And I enjoyed it.
Besides his problems with the alleged potency of modern marijuana, Bloomberg said he opposed legalized marijuana sales because drug dealers would only be encouraged to sell more illegal drugs.
Drug dealers have families to feed, he said to Gambling. If they cant sell marijuana, theyll sell something else. And the something else will be something worse, and the push to legalize this is wrongheaded.
