Conservative pollster: Nate Silver is wrong because he is ‘thin and effeminate

In a post for Examiner.com, Chambers sought to discredit Silver’s recent statistical analysis that showed Romney flatlining in the presidential race. Chambers, who rose to prominence by asserting that pollsters were nefariously skewing their results in favor of Democrats, insisted that Silver’s latest finding was more indication of that perceived liberal bias.

How could Chambers tell that Silver is an untrustworthy liberal? His lack of overt masculinity, of course.

“Nate Silver is a man of very small stature, a thin and effeminate man with a soft-sounding voice that sounds almost exactly like the ‘Mr. New Castrati’ voice used by Rush Limbaugh on his program,” Chambers wrote. “In fact, Silver could easily be the poster child for the New Castrati in both image and sound.”

GOP Candidate's video: He's too educated and believes in Global Warming

GOP candidate: ‘My opponent believes in global warming and has been to other countries, he is basically a monster’

Seriously, you have to watch this ad to believe the depth of anti-intellectualism and anti-environmentalism at work here. The voiceover literally just reads off Varilek’s impressive resume — got two postgraduate degrees, studied at Cambridge, spoke at a U.N. global warming summit — but in a tone of voice that suggests Varilek achieved all this while smearing his face with the blood of aborted puppies.

Varilek is untrustworthy. They are as follows:

Earned TWO master’s degrees — who needs that much education?
Studied something called “the environment,” clearly code for “communism.”
Lived in or visited several places that are not South Dakota.
Believes in global warming.
Corn dogs.

Meanwhile, Noem’s achievements include receiving an award from the South Dakota Soybean Association, but at least she doesn’t know anything about how soybeans work! I’m actually surprised the ad missed an opportunity to note that while Noem did attend college for a while, she only went because it was a requirement of her title as South Dakota Snow Queen. Surely, with a constituency that thinks “attending U.N. summits” and “leaving the state occasionally” are liabilities in a politician, that tidbit ought to make her a shoo-in.

Saturn Burped with hugh temperature spike

NASA scientists using the Cassini spacecraft have witnessed a rare massive storm on Saturn that was so violent it sent the temperature in the planet's stratosphere soaring to 150 degrees Fahrenheit above normal.

"This temperature spike is so extreme it's almost unbelievable, especially in this part of Saturn's atmosphere, which typically is very stable," Hesman, who also works at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, said in a press release.

Another thing that happened during the aftermath of the storm is that Saturn "burped" a great amount of ethylene gas.

"Ethylene, an odorless, colorless gas, isn't typically observed on Saturn," NASA explains. "On Earth, it is created by natural and man-made sources."

Scientists are still trying to explain where the gas came from.

British ExxonMobil oil chief 'assassinated' in Brussels street

Belgian police have imposed a news blackout after Nicholas Mockford, 60, was shot as he left an Italian restaurant in Neder-over-Heembeek, a suburb of the capital.

The executive was shot three times, once as he lay on the ground, after leaving the Da Marcello restaurant in Rue de Beyseghem at around 10pm on Oct 14.

His wife, Mary, was left beaten and covered in blood. Mr Mockford died on the way to hospital.
Witnesses said they saw the couple walk across the street to their car, a silver Lexus 4x4, before shots were fired.

The attack was said to have happened very quickly and Mrs Mockford was left cradling her husband in the street, shouting for help. According to reports, two men were seen running away carrying a motorcycle helmet.

Stewart mocks Mourdock for having to deny he worships a rape-loving deity

On his show Thursday night, Jon Stewart of The Daily Show tore into Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock. The GOP candidate recently said that pregnancies that result from rape were “something God intended to happen.” Stewart remarked that it was a bad sign when a candidate was forced to hold a press conference to clarify that he does not worship a rape-loving deity.

The Guardian: Mourdock: I gained votes after rape remarks

Mourdock said on Thursday that his popularity had been unaffected by the fallout. Asked about voters who might not vote for him because of the remarks, Mourdock said: “I haven’t heard of those voters,” the Indianapolis Star reported.

When Mourdock was given an example of one voter who had, in fact, stopped supporting him, he said: “I assured all women that the issue of rape is a serious issue. It is not one that my God condones. If anyone thinks that I would condone that, that’s a ludicrous point of view.”

Asked if his campaign had gained votes after the abortion comment, the Star said Mourdock replied: “I know we did.”

'Mother Mary Was Essentially Raped,' Mourdock Says

NEW ALBANY, IN—Defending his comment that a woman becoming pregnant from rape “is something God intended,” Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock dug himself into an even deeper hole today when he argued that, if you really stop to think about it, the Virgin Mary was basically raped by God.

“Mary certainly didn’t ask for God to impregnate her with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but obviously the Immaculate Conception, while not the result of a consensual act, was still a part of God’s plan—you see what I’m getting at, right?” said the 61-year-old man who currently serves as the state treasurer of Indiana.

“Of course I don’t condone sexual assault. I’m just saying that sometimes when a woman is violated and impregnated against her will, it’s actually a really good thing in the end, because God’s rape of Mary gave us Jesus, and Jesus saved mankind from sin. So that’s one example right there.” At press time, multiple male Senate candidates in their 60s remained divided between those who believe pregnancies resulting from rape are biologically impossible and those who believe they are the divine will of God.

Susteren: It’s Obama’s Fault If Fox News ‘Gets It Wrong’

Greta Van Susteren was agog over the “breaking news” that amounted to a bunch of emails showing that the White House knew that a terror group had claimed responsibility for the attacks on Benghazi. Of course, “claimed responsibility” is not the same thing as actually being responsible but in her excitement to finger the Obama administration as having engaged in some kind of nefarious cover up, Van Susteren didn’t bother with that pesky detail. Instead, she actually blamed the Obama administration for any of her own network’s reporting mistakes.

jaw dropper:

Look, he’s the one who’s not putting – he’s the one who’s creating this vacuum. He’s the one who has the information who could tell us. He’s the one who can get on TV and tell us. He’s not. And so we may be getting it wrong but if we’re getting it wrong, it’s his fault.

She even reiterated this ridiculousness:

If we have it wrong, you know, if we’re taking the wrong assumptions from the written word that we have, I blame the administration because they’re the ones that had the information. They’re the ones who represent the American people and they’re the ones who created this problem for themselves.
