Stormy Daniels: Michael Avenatti Sued Trump For Defamation Against My Wishes

Michael Avenatti sued Donald Trump for defaming Stormy Daniels against her wishes, Daniels told The Daily Beast in a statement on Wednesday.

Avenatti also started a new fundraising site to raise money for her legal defense fund without telling her, Daniels said. She said she is not sure whether or not she will keep Avenatti on as her lawyer.

Here is her full statement, provided to The Daily Beast:

“For months I’ve asked Michael Avenatti to give me accounting information about the fund my supporters so generously donated to for my safety and legal defense. He has repeatedly ignored those requests. Days ago I demanded again, repeatedly, that he tell me how the money was being spent and how much was left. Instead of answering me, without my permission or even my knowledge Michael launched another crowdfunding campaign to raise money on my behalf. I learned about it on Twitter.

Fox Nation: Public-Access Quality TV for Just $5.99 a Month

Even for the most dedicated Fox News fanboys, the much-hyped Fox Nation streaming service doesn’t deliver anything of quality.

Fox News launched its subscription-driven online video channel Fox Nation on Tuesday after months of promotion and a low-rent Sunday night kick-off show—one that seemed weird at the time but actually proved to be an accurate representation of the $5.99/month streaming service.

At first glance, Fox Nation appears to be a cornucopia of fresh content. A closer look, however, reveals most of the programming to simply be old far-right “documentaries” with titles like The Great Food Stamp Binge and United Nations Blood Money—most of which aired on Fox News or elsewhere up to ten years ago, though many have misleading “airdates.”

A Greg Gutfeld-hosted program about car chases, titled You Couldn't Stop Watching, is clearly not, as alleged by Fox (despite Gutfeld’s now fully gray hair), from three weeks ago:

What else do you get for your $5.99 per month?

Links to audio versions of Fox News programs, Fox News Radio simulcasts, and the handful of new shows—some of which, having clearly been taped some time ago, are already out-of-date in the news cycle.

Some feature shoddy camerawork, and others wonky audio issues; none of them look particularly professional, and combined with the low-rent personalities appearing on them, Fox Nation looks more like a deranged YouTuber’s favorites page than the website of a cable-news titan.

I’ve been very disturbed by Saudi Arabia’s actions: from the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen to the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. I’ve previously voted to end support for Saudi-led coalition in Yemen—and am cosponsoring @SenSanders’ effort for today's vote

Mike Pompeo Says 'No Direct' Link Between Saudi Crown Prince and Khashoggi Killing in CIA Report

Source: Newsweek

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denied reports that a recent CIA investigation had established direct links between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and the death of a Saudi journalist at the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.

Jamal Khashoggi's death at the hands of Riyadh's agents has prompted new criticism over the U.S. relationship with Saudi Arabia, already under fire due to the war it leads against a Zaidi Shiite Muslim rebel group known as the Houthis or Ansar Allah in Yemen. Reports have indicated that a classified CIA inquiry into Khashoggi's slaying directly implicated Prince Mohammed, but Pompeo denied this as senators prepared to vote on whether the U.S. should continue providing military assistance to Saudi Arabia.

"I do believe I've read every piece of intelligence unless it's come in in the last few hours. I think I've read it all," Pompeo said, himself the former CIA director. "There is no direct reporting connecting the crown prince to order the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. And that’s all I can say in an unclassified setting."

In a blog post prior to the briefing, the top diplomat said that "degrading U.S.-Saudi ties would be a grave mistake for the national security of the U.S. and its allies."

Source: NBC News

Four 15-year-old Maryland high school football players charged as adults with rape for sexually assaulting four teammates with a broom during a hazing incident have been released on bond.

Three of the Damascus High School athletes, who NBC News is not identifying, were charged with two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of attempted rape, according to District Court of Maryland documents. One of the athletes was charged with four counts of first-degree rape.

All four junior varsity athletes are charged with conspiracy to commit rape.

The students were each released Tuesday on $20,000 bond, according to court records.

White House invites one local Idaho newspaper to cover Ivanka Trump and Tim Cook's event at a public

White House invites one local Idaho newspaper to cover Ivanka Trump and Tim Cook's event at a public school but on one condition: No talking to Ivanka Trump or Tim Cook. And no questions. No other media outlet was allowed on school property.

Amid political turmoil, Ivanka Trump attempts a quiet swing through Idaho

The head of one of the world’s leading technology companies, and an adviser to and daughter of the nation’s president came to Idaho on Tuesday.

Normally, such a visit would warrant much fanfare. State officials, business leaders, stakeholders and media would all use the opportunity to meet with and report on such a rare official visit to the Gem State.

But this visit almost stayed under the radar.

On Monday morning, the White House informed the Statesman it could send one reporter and one photographer to observe Apple CEO Tim Cook and adviser to the president Ivanka Trump tour a Wilder elementary school the next morning. And there were conditions: The Statesman could not ask questions of or talk to Trump and Cook. It could only observe. The only other media attending the event would be a national crew from ABC.

Obama: NY Times readers, Fox News viewers live in 'an entirely different reality'

Source: The Hill

Former President Obama said late Tuesday that the current media environment no longer allows Americans "to agree on a common set of facts," adding that Fox News viewers and New York Times readers live in "an entirely different reality" from each other.

"In 1981, your news cycle was still governed by the stories that were going to be filed by the AP, Washington Post, maybe New York Times, and the three broadcast stations,” Obama said at an event marking the 25th anniversary of Rice University’s Baker Institute in Houston. "Whether people got their news from Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley, they tended to agree on a common set of facts. That set a baseline around which both parties had to adapt and respond to."

“By the time I take office,” Obama continued, “what you increasingly have is a media environment in which, if you are a Fox News viewer, you have an entirely different reality than if you are a New York Times reader.”

The comments echo what Obama said at an event in at the City College in New York earlier this year.
