Warren gets her own action figure

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is persisting … as an action figure.

The Massachusetts Democrat is the latest politician to be transformed into an action figure as part of a Kickstarter campaign from product design maker FCTRY.

The company has a history of drawing inspiration from real-life Washington regulars, creating action figures based on Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, President Trump and former President Obama.

“The moment Mitch McConnell spoke the words, ‘Nevertheless, she persisted,’ we knew Warren had to be our next figure,” Erica Chon, FCTRY’s content strategist, tells ITK.

Trump to speak at religious conference during Comey testimony

President Trump will address a group of religious conservatives at a hotel in Washington on Thursday as former FBI Director James Comey testifies on Capitol Hill.

The Faith & Freedom Coalition announced Tuesday that Trump will address the “Road to Majority Conference” at Washington’s Omni Shoreham Hotel at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Comey’s highly anticipated testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee will be going on at the same time.

Vice President Pence, White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will also address the gathering.

Pussyhat Project cofounder launches the next big craftivism effort of the resistance

Dust off your knitting needles — it's time for the latest craftivism project of the resistance.

A new initiative called Welcome Blanket takes the length of President Donald Trump's proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall and reimagines it as thousands of "welcome" blankets for refugees. The goal is to knit blankets from 2,000 miles of yarn — the projected length of the border wall — over the next three months.

With each blanket made, the knitter is encouraged to include a note sharing their family's immigration story and words of welcome for refugee families.

The initiative was started by Jayna Zweiman, cofounder of Pussyhat Project — an effort to craft simple pink "pussyhats" that was a viral success in the lead-up to the Women's March on Washington earlier this year. The hats quickly became a symbol of the resistance for women.

Starting in July, completed blankets and accompanying notes will be displayed on a rolling basis in the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago. Participants need to send their blankets to the museum by August 20, and Zweiman says the completed 2,000 miles of blankets will go on display by September 2017.

Once the show closes at the end of that month, the individual blankets will be distributed to refugee resettlement organizations to be used by refugee families in the U.S.

On May 23, Qatar woke up to news of a hack attributing flase statements to the Emir of Qatar. The fake news was aired on severeal UAE and Saudi owned networks in the Gulf. This sparked a series of diplomatic breakdowns between the GCC countries.

The latest developments include severing of diplomatic ties between three Gulf states and Qatar, an embargo imposed on Qatar, with air, sea and land borders shutdown, and Qatari diplomats and residents expelled from those Gulf coutnries.

Here is a breakdown of the latest diplomatic crisis and what it entails for the region.

What is the GCC?

GCC stands for Gulf Cooperation Council. This is a political and economic alliance of countries in the Arabian peninsula. These are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1981 and its aim is to enhance cooperation and close relations among its members.

WAKE UP!!!! White House Social Media Chief Fires Off Angry Tweet to London Mayor

After President Donald Trump criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan in an early morning Tweet, a key member of the President’s communications team is jumping into the fray to back his boss.

Dan Scavino Jr., the White House Director of Social Media, fired off an angry Tweet to Khan on Sunday morning — in which he referenced a Tweet from last year defending Trump’s views on Islam.

“WAKE UP!!!” Scavino wrote to Kahn.
