‘Deadpool’ Surpasses Both ‘Iron Man’ & ‘Man Of Steel’ At The Domestic Box Office

Another weekend means another big accomplishment for 20th Centry Fox’s Deadpool. The film, which many initially doubted, has surpassed expectations and gone on to become the highest grossing first entry in a superhero franchise to date at the domestic box office right behind Guardians Of The Galaxy & Spider-Man. This weekend the film hit $328 million at the north American box office which has pushed it past both Marvel Studios’ Iron Man ($318 million) and Warner Bros. Man Of Steel ($291 million).

Breaking down the GOP map

Florida primary: 99 delegates

Trump’s strong performance in Alabama and Georgia suggests rural North Florida could be a problem area for Rubio. To pull off the comeback victory, the senator needs to run up the score in his home county of Miami-Dade, the most populous in the state, where 90,000 of the roughly 1 million early and absentee ballots in Florida had been cast through Saturday. Rubio will also need a solid performance in the state’s I-4 corridor, which stretches from Tampa to Orlando to Daytona Beach.

Illinois primary: 69 delegates

Committeemen in Cook County, Illinois’ most populous, voted to recommend Kasich, which the local party chair predicts will help the Ohio governor finish at least second in the field. Kasich has also won the support of some top local Republican lawmakers, whose names will appear on the ballot as delegates, and he has the support of the influential former Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady.

Trump, however, tops statewide polling. It’s unclear how Friday’s canceled Chicago rally might affect the GOP front-runner with his supporters, or whether the anti-Trump ads that have blanketed the airwaves for the past two weeks have driven up his negatives.

Missouri primary: 52 delegates

If Cruz picks up a win Tuesday, this would be the place — his top strategist, Jeff Roe, made his name running Missouri campaigns, and the state has a high percentage of evangelicals. The Texas senator made four stops across the state Saturday, including one in suburban St. Louis, where he was joined by Carly Fiorina, and he has the endorsement of Rep. Ann Wagner.

But working in Trump’s favor is Missouri’s open primary system: Some of his top performances have come in states, like this one, where Democrats and independents can vote in the GOP primary.

North Carolina primary: 72 delegates

“Early voting and people participating is strong, despite that North Carolina has not had a March primary before,” said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of North Carolina’s Republican Party. “We have had double the amount of absentees from 2012. Our early voting numbers are really strong. More unaffiliated [voters] are picking our ticket than the Democratic side.”

Polls here suggest a two-man race: Trump continues to lead most statewide surveys, including in a High Point University poll that listed him at 48 percent on Friday, followed by Cruz at 28 percent. Kasich and Rubio are far behind.

Ohio primary: 66 delegates

Trump overperformed in Kentucky’s eastern coal region, and Clegg sees a similar dynamic in Appalachian southeast Ohio. If voters turn out in droves there, it portends a good night for Trump. Cleveland’s Cuyahoga and Toledo’s Lucas counties will be a test of whether Trump can repeat his strength among more urbanized blue-collar voters. Suburban Cincinnati counties like Butler, Warren and Claremont are places to watch for Kasich.

I think T-Rump may end up winning Ohio

A Dem state senator said on CNN that a bucketload of Dems in Youngstown crossed over to vote for T-Rump. Not good news for Kasich.

Trump warns Bernie Sanders: Be careful, or my supporters will start going to your rallies!

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted Sunday that Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was "lying" about encouraging his supporters to protest Trump.

Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!

Marco Rubio Wins Washington DC Caucus, NBC News Projects

Marco Rubio will win the Washington, D.C., caucus Saturday, NBC News projects.

It will mark Florida senator's third win in the presidential race. Rubio previously won the Minnesota caucus and the Puerto Rico primary.

Rubio got 37 percent, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 36 percent. Donald Trump got 14 percent and Ted Cruz got 12 percent, with 100 percent of the vote in.

Rubio campaign spokesman Alex Conant said on Twitter after the projection that the district is "embracing the future."

Trump is the Republican front-runner. He had 457 delegates before Saturday's caucus, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is in second with 364 delegates. Those numbers will change after delegates are allocated from D.C.'s caucus.

Key GOP fundraiser: Donors will fall in line behind Trump

A top Republican fundraiser says he believes the majority of the party's donor class will ultimately “fall in line” behind Donald Trump as the party’s presidential nominee despite last-ditch attempts by some wealthy conservatives to derail the billionaire front-runner.

“The majority of donors want to see a Republican victory,” Fred Malek, the finance chair of the Republican Governors Association, said in a telephone interview with The Hill on Friday.

“They might prefer somebody other than Trump but if he gets the nomination they will fall in line.”
Malek has been a key player in the multimillion-dollar fundraising machine that has helped install Republican governors in statehouses across the country.

Among the donors he talks to, Malek said many are saying they will support Trump if he wins the nomination, despite their misgivings, because the stakes of this election are so high.

Rubio: ‘There is no doubt’ Obama helped stoke recent political chaos

TAMPA -- Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Saturday that "There's no doubt" President Obama has helped stoke the caustic rhetoric and violence displayed at recent political rallies held by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

Earlier Saturday, Rubio lashed out at his rival Trump for failing to condemn violent protests at his recent public events and lamented that the increasingly nasty nature of American politics "is now bleeding over into the broader culture." But he also faulted Obama, saying the president had contributed to the coarsening political debate.

Asked in an interview to give a specific example of how Obama has divided the country, Rubio cited an April 2011 speech used to criticize a budget proposal written by then-House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). With Ryan sitting in the audience, Obama said that the GOP's budgeting vision "is less about reducing the deficit than it is about changing the basic social compact in America."

"He basically said, 'If you agree with Paul Ryan’s budget, you don’t care about the disabled, you don’t care about the elderly, you don’t care about the poor,'" Rubio recalled. "There’s been numerous instances where he basically implies that if you don’t care with his gun control agenda than you didn’t care about the kids who died at Sandy Hook. Time and again he’s done that. There’s no doubt that he’s been a contributor to this."

WTF? RNC chair just asked BOTH parties to calm tension?

Sorry for having no link, but I just read on Twitter that the RNC chair asked both parties to help "ease tensions" after what's gone down at the Trump rallied. NO! It's all on them. As heated as it's gotten in our primaries, no ones thrown any punches.

Trump just sent out the signal to disrupt Clinton and Sanders rallies.

T-Rump just made the point that no one disrupts rallies for Hillary and Bernie. I have a very bad feeling it's going to get ugly at our events by next weekend.
