Marco Rubio had to pay back taxes for nanny

“From 2006 to 2009, she worked for the Rubios as a contractor, meaning she also worked for other families. In 2012, without inquiry or prompting, Marco decided to reclassify her employment for the years 2006 to 2009 as a full-time household employee, and he paid the applicable taxes.”

It’s not clear from the statement why Rubio waited until 2012 to address the situation, why he reclassified the nanny or how much he paid in applicable taxes.

Conant said it "wasn't an issue" in 2010 and would not respond to other questions dismissing, them as a "fishing expedition."

Conant said he would not answer additional questions because the Times did not reveal the names of the sources. He said he would not refer the questions to people on the campaign who worked for Rubio in 2010. The Times initially (on March 3) asked another Rubio spokesman, Alex Burgos, who worked on the 2010 campaign. Burgos did not provide answers.

Rubio has released partial tax returns dating back to 2000.

People who employ household workers and pay them at least $1,900 (current year) must report that under schedule H on their tax return. Rubio’s returns for 2006-08 do not reflect household employment taxes. In 2009, he paid $2,896. In 2010, he paid $5,874.

Rubio has a history of financial issues, including sloppy management of political committees during his rise in the state House and using a state GOP credit card for personal expenses. In 2008, he abruptly amended his financial disclosure forms after reporters asked why he had not listed a $135,000 home-equity loan he secured on his current home, purchased in December 2005 for $550,000.

I think Trump just won the nomination.

Before I begin, let me say I applaud the anti-Trump protestors' heart and intent. But I think the end result is going to be the nomination of Donald Trump for President on the Republican ticket. This would end a candidate in a sane world, but this is Trumpworld where there is no such thing as bad publicity. And just as a train wreck attacks onlookers, this will definately peel off some of more extreme Cruz supporters and put Trump over the top in key primaries.

I can no longer stomach the CNN panel glossing over the Republican Party's islamophia

I am watching Anderson Cooper and the rest of his panel pretending that tRump's islamophobia does not reflect the Republican Party at large, especially after every exit poll shows overwhelming favor of deporting Muslims from the US. CNN is aiding and abetting an attempted coverup.

The press and pundits still miss the boat on Trump's appeal.

Issues have nothing to do with it at the end of the day. The sad bottom line is that many Americans, especially the kind who vote in Republican primaries, love a strong-man who they see as someone who can bully and bluster his way to the top. Trump is the silverback of the group (no offense intended to the honorable Mountain Gorilla). .

My cousin just killed himself with the gun he owned for 'home protection'. (UPDATED)

He had that handgun for over a decade and tbe only time he felt the need to use it was to fight off his own demons.

UPDATE: It was the same gun his then six-year old son once obtained from their bedroom closet. Thank God he wasn't another casualty.

Inside Rubio's Collapse

Rubio’s benefactors were aghast to see their candidate practicing Trump’s gutter politics. “Everyone went, ‘What?.?.?. Why are you going down to that level?’?” recalled one fundraiser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk candidly. “You might as well support Trump.”

Looking back, Rubio’s supporters see these fateful days as central to his unraveling. A strategy designed to get under Trump’s skin and force him on the defensive instead backfired on Rubio, diminishing the 44-year-old senator who had spent years trying to demonstrate presidential gravitas. At rally after rally, Rubio was unintentionally personifying the caricature that Trump was perpetually drawing of him: “Little Marco".

The results were not pretty. Rubio lost 18 of the next 20 contests, with his only wins in Minnesota’s caucuses and Puerto Rico’s primary. The ultimate humiliation came on Tuesday, when Rubio performed so poorly in four states — he got just 5 percent in Mississippi — that he was shut out from gaining any delegates.

A reflective Rubio expressed regret Wednesday over his name-calling of Trump, saying at an MSNBC town hall that the insults had upset his children.

Mitt Romney deserves a special place in Political Hell.

As much as I despise the current Republican field, they went out this year and put themselves out there. Mittens, on the other hand, is obviously angling to be the chosen savior who sweeps in during the convention and, in his mind, the White House. If he wants to get his ass kicked a third time, he should get in now and make his intentions clear, instead of smugly obvious.
