Trump told Pelosi: You know I won the popular vote

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday recounted that President Trump opened his first meeting with congressional leaders in January with a flat assertion that he, in fact, won the popular vote in the November election.

"First thing he says to open the meeting: 'You know, I won the popular vote,'" Pelosi recalled on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Trump has often boasted about the size of his Electoral College victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton in November, although Clinton ultimately won the popular vote by nearly 3 million ballots cast.

The president has also said that he would have won the popular vote as well, if millions of people had not voted illegally. There is no evidence, however, suggesting that millions of ballots were improperly cast and voter fraud remains rare in the U.S.

Trump's lawyer to file complaint against Comey: report

President Trump’s outside attorney is planning on filing a complaint against fired FBI Director James Comey with the Justice Department over his handling of memos on his interactions with the president, CNN reported Friday.

Sources tell CNN the complaint surrounds Comey’s testimony Thursday that as a private citizen he relayed the content of his memos about his interactions with Trump to a friend of his, and asked him to give the content to a reporter.

It is not yet known when Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz will file the complaints.
Comey said he needed to get the information to the public after he was fired by the president.

"My judgment was I needed to get that out into the public square. So I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter," the former FBI director testified Thursday.

Comey told senators Sessions may have met Russia's ambassador a third time

Washington (CNN)Former FBI Director James Comey told senators in a closed hearing this afternoon that Attorney General Jeff Sessions may have had a third interaction with Russia's ambassador to the US, according to people familiar with the briefing.

The information is based in part on Russian-to-Russian intercepts where the meeting was discussed, three sources familiar with the information tell CNN.

But the sources said it is possible the ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, was exaggerating the extent of the encounter.

CNN previously reported exclusively that congressional investigators are examining whether Sessions had an additional private meeting with Russia's ambassador during the presidential campaign, according to Republican and Democratic Hill sources and intelligence officials briefed on the investigation.

Kushner To Meet With Senate Intelligence Committee Staffers In June

enior White House aide Jared Kushner is scheduled to meet in June with Senate Intelligence Committee staffers, NBC News reported late Thursday.

NBC News’ Kasie Hunt cited two unnamed sources who said the meeting is set for mid-June but did not name a specific date.

According to Hunt, the meeting is a first step toward Kushner providing documents to the panel and answering its questions.

The Washington Post reported in May that Kushner, who is President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, spoke in December to Russia’s ambassador to the United States about setting up a communications backchannel between Trump’s transition team and Moscow.

Nick Clegg 'loses seat' amid Liberal Democrat slump in Sheffield Hallam

Nick Clegg has lost his Sheffield Hallam constituency after failing to fight off a Labour surge, Liberal Democrat sources have told The Telegraph.

The former Deputy Prime Minister looks set to be the first high-profile figure to be ousted of the night, having not defended his slender majority of 2,353.

The ardent Remainer stepped down from the Liberal Democrat leadership after the party's poor result at the 2015 General Election, following five years of coalition government with the Conservatives.

Tonight's exit poll suggests the Liberal Democrats are set to modestly increase their number of seats.

Interesting comment made about Corbyn's UK campaign.

Someone mentioned earlier that Corbyn did not follow the traditional strategy of visiting in close districts, choosing to campaign throughout the country including safe Labour regions that provided good crowds for television. Sounds a like Trump

A Democrat is gaining ground in California governors race, and it isnt Gavin Newsom

A new poll of likely statewide voters suggests the upcoming contest to replace Gov. Jerry Brown could be a competitive one.

And it could come down to two Democrats.

Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to lead the race for California governor. However, he’s now joined at the top of the list by fellow Democrat Antonio Villaraigosa.

The former mayor of Los Angeles has pulled to within 5 percentage points of Newsom, 22 percent to 17 percent, according to the survey from UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies. The institute’s March poll had Newsom at 28 percent and Villaraigosa at 11 percent, even though the contest has remained low-profile.

“It’s an interesting race given that you now have two candidates from the same party who are in the lead,” said Mark DiCamillo, the poll’s director.

Would you take a 10-year old to see the movie 'Dunkirk'

I know it's fashionable these days to shield a young child from violence and teach there there is onlt good in the world, but I feel like I should warn my son there is a lot of bad as well. 'Dunkirk', I think has the potential to teach both at once. How do you feel about taking a kid to a WWII movie?
