St. Charles County (MO) prosecutor (R) arrested on suspicion of DWI

LAKE OZARK — St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar was arrested early Friday in Lake Ozark on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Miller County Sheriff's Department officials said Lohmar, 48, was booked into jail around 2 a.m. and released about an hour later. Charges had not appeared in online court records as of Tuesday evening.

In a statement, Lohmar acknowledged he was involved in a "situation" in Miller County.

"I maintain that I am innocent of any wrongdoing, and I will respect the legal process as it unfolds," he said.

Lake Ozark police did not provide details of the incident.

A spokeswoman for the St. Charles County prosecutor's office declined to comment.

"Whatever may have transpired would have occurred outside the duties of this office," said public information officer Leslie Knight.

2 key UK Cabinet ministers quit Boris Johnson's government over sex misconduct scandal

LONDON — Two of Britain’s most senior Cabinet ministers have quit, a move that could spell the end of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s leadership after months of scandals.

Treasury chief Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid resigned within minutes of each other. Javid said, “I can no longer continue in good conscience.”

Johnson has been hit by allegations he failed to come clean about a lawmaker who was appointed to a senior position despite claims of sexual misconduct.

Sunak said “the public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously. ”

“I recognize this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.”
