Oath Keepers threaten to exercise Second Amendment against any U.S. Marshals who arrest Kim Davis

The Oath Keepers -- the armed, anti-government vigilante group known for popping up at the Ferguson protests and elsewhere -- has told Kim Davis' legal counsel that they would be willing to "protect" the anti-gay marriage Kentucky clerk from being detained by the U.S. Marshals Service. According to Right Wing Watch, Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes has said he is already on his way to Kentucky.

In a statement posted to the Oath Keepers' website, Rhodes claims that the federal judge who ordered Davis' detention after she refused to issue gay marriage licenses "grossly overstepped his bounds and violated Mrs Davis’ due process rights, and in particular her right to a jury trial."

Prior to Davis' release from detention Tuesday, the Oath Keepers planned to picket the home of the judge, U.S. District Judge David Bunning, Right Wing Watch reported. It is unclear if she will be detained again if she gets in the way of her clerks' office issuing the licenses, as her lawyers have suggested, when she returns to work.

"We must stand against this. And so we will protect her and prevent it from happening again," Rhodes said in the statement.

Democrats flip dark red Oklahoma state House seat once held by Republican governor

Tuesday night’s special election win for Democrats did little to tip the state’s political scoreboard. But as a hundred supporters shouted inside a Western Avenue bar, it felt like one of the biggest victories for Oklahoma’s minority party in a long time.

“Each time I heard it was an uphill battle I got more strength,” said Democrat Cyndi Munson, moments after winning the open seat in House District 85. “This is amazing.”

For years Democratic candidates and campaign organizers pointed to Oklahoma City’s inner ring suburbs as a winnable battlefield. Changing demographics were seen as an open door for a party that holds no statewide office or majority power in the House or Senate. But in recent years Democrats were unsuccessful in when it came to wresting away a Republican seat, including in House District 85, where Munson lost to incumbent David Dank last year.

Following Dank’s death earlier this year, Munson announced her second campaign and found momentum as four Republicans battled in a primary race this summer.

Chip Carter, a vice president of corporate communications at Jones Public Relations, emerged from the summer primary and took a long list of political and corporate endorsements into Tuesday’s special election.

Munson took home a 8-point win according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma Election Board.

New Marvel Title to Feature Native American Hero

The Marvel Universe’'s American Southwest now has a superhero to call its very own –-- the mysterious new hero, RED WOLF! Recently seen within the pages of Secret Wars’ 1872, this new hero is suddenly thrust into the new Marvel Universe as its latest righteousness defender no matter what it takes! An outsider and an honest man, Red Wolf is going to need all his wits, and both his fists, to serve and protect this new world from the corrupt organizations that want to control this already stifling landscape of the gritty and harsh American Southwest.

Series writer Nathan Edmondson (Black Widow, Punisher) is joined by artist Dalibor Talajiæ (Uncanny X-Force, Empire of the Dead) and cover artist Jeffrey Veregge, a member of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe based out of Kingston, Washington, who's also of Suquamish and Duwamish decent. Veregge will also be providing consulting when it comes to characterization and design for the new series.

"There's not a character like Red Wolf out there right now," Veregge told Mashable at the time of the series announcement. "As a native, I’m really excited to see that he can do things, he can figure out things and stand with Captain America, and hold his own in this universe. That’s what’s awesome about it: You have all these characters of different nationalities and ethnicities, but it’s not all about their culture. It’s about them being a hero."

"There’'s something about that harsh terrain of the American Southwest that requires an adaptable, thoughtful, resourceful hero, and that’'s Red Wolf all over,"” said series editor Jacob Thomas. “"He doesn'’t have amped up strength or tech, he’'s got quick wits, hard fists, and an unshakable sense of justice. Underestimate him at your own peril.”"

This December, the new Marvel Universe gains a new hero who pledges to never let the crushing hands of ruthlessness control those who cannot defend themselves. Red Wolf is here to keep order and maintain peace …no matter the cost.

Sarah Palin refers to Black Lives Matter protesters as ‘dogs’ at rally against Iran deal

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin suggested on Wednesday that President Barack Obama should call off the “dogs” in the Black Lives Matter movement.

At a Tea Party Patriots rally against the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran, Palin began by saying she wanted to bring some “sanity to this discussion.”

“Thank you for gathering to uphold the promise that was made, the promise of never again,” Palin told the crowd. “And thank you for gathering as we can because we are still a free people. And if you love that freedom, think of that.”

She continued: “Oh and you know, since your president won’t say it, since he still hasn’t called off the dogs, we’ll say it. Police officers and first responders all across this great land, we got your back! We salute you!”

“Thanks you, police officers!”

Texas Woman Arrested With Loaded Handgun In Vagina

A 31-year-old woman was arrested by Waco, Texas police late Monday night with about 30 grams of methamphetamine in her purse and a fully loaded handgun, with a round chambered, in her vagina, according to a local television report.

Waco police stopped a 1998 Land Rover at about 11 p.m. Monday, KCEN reported Tuesday.

The passenger, Ashley Cecilia Castaneda, was arrested and charged with methamphetamine possession in a drug free zone because the vehicle was stopped within 1,000 feet of a school, the television station reported. Police said they also found 29.5 grams of methamphetamine along with digital scales in her purse, according to the station.

After she was arrested, Castaneda allegedly told the officer she had a handgun in her vagina, KCEN reported. According to the television station, police found a loaded Smith and Wesson pistol with a round chambered.

The driver, Gabriel Garcia, 30, was accused of having 2.7 grams of methamphetamine under the driver's seat, the television station reported.

Huckabee Admits Staffer Physically Blocked Ted Cruz From Kim Davis Rally Stage

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee painted fellow GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as an unwelcome guest at a rally for Kentucky clerk Kim Davis Tuesday, admitting that his staffer physically blocked Cruz from getting on stage.

In a Wednesday appearance on NewsMax TV's "Steve Malzberg Show" first reported by BuzzFeed's Andrew Kaczynski, Huckabee said his campaign planned the event, and he made Cruz's visit with Davis possible.

"Well, Steve, this was our event. My team put it together. We’re the ones who recruited the people not only to be on the program, but we’re the ones who coordinated the effort. We’re the ones who secured the permits, the staging," Huckabee told Malzberg. "We had no idea Ted Cruz was going to show up until the day before and he didn’t call us, he called several other people on the program and asked about it.”........

Cruz was relegated to the wings during the event, and his planned visit with an incarcerated Davis fizzled. Huckabee took center stage at the rally, not leaving the defiant clerk's side while on stage.

This is what happens when lawyers have no real clients.

Just minutes after a judge ordered Kim Davis released from jail on Tuesday, her lawyers told CNN that she would violate a court order by forcing her clerks to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

An order from U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning said on Tuesday that Davis would be released after serving six days in jail on the condition that she “shall not interfere in any way, directly or indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.”

CNN correspondent Martin Savidge, who was at the jail, explained following the order that her attorney, Harry Mihet, said that the judge had ordered the release because her office had satisfied the court by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples while she was behind bars.

“The problem here is that the attorney says she has not changed her mind, that Kim Davis is adamant that as long as her name appears on those marriage licenses, she objects and she will attempt to stop those licenses from being distributed,” Savidge reported. “Which means if she goes back on the job as is expected, she will bring the process to a halt. That’s what her attorneys believe.”

Obama says Republicans hurt working people

WASHINGTON — President Obama chastised Republicans on Monday for trying to "re-brand themselves as the party of the middle class" while opposing efforts to raise the minimum wage and bragging about busting unions.

"You can't say you care about working people and then do things that hurt working people," Obama said in a Labor Day speech to the Greater Boston Labor Council.

The president sought to highlight the sharp divide between Democrats and Republicans on workplace issues heading into the 2016 presidential race.

While flying to the Boston event from Washington, Obama signed an executive order requiring federal contractors to offer employees up to seven paid sick days a year. The president said that would give more than 300,000 workers paid sick leave for the first time. About 40% of Americans who work in the private sector don't get that benefit, Obama said.

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES
