Merry Christmas, everyone.

This is not the best holiday season by far, but I'm off for a week and a half, everyone in my immediate family is safe and healthy. Joe and Kamala are going to be POTUS/VP next month and Wonder Woman '84 starts tomorrow, so I will make the most of these small comforts. I hope you can find yours but if nothing else, we have each other.

Sidney Powell says White House aides won't let her help Trump

Pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell said Thursday that the president's aides are preventing her from being in contact with President Trump and coordinating his efforts to overturn election results in battleground states around the country.

In an interview with Zenger News, Powell said she had heard only radio silence from the White House following her meeting with the president in the Oval Office on Friday, seemingly confirming that she was unable to speak to Trump when she visited the White House on Sunday.

"I've been blocked from speaking to or communicating with the president since I left the Oval Office on Friday night," Powell told Zenger's David Martsoko, "by apparently everyone around him."

'I'll slit your throat': Maryland man charged with threatening congressman

A Maryland man who allegedly told a congressman he should be “tortured and skinned alive” was arrested Wednesday on charges of threatening a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, according to federal officials.

Sidhartha Kumar Mathur, 34, of West Friendship, is accused of delivering the threats over voice mail and in a “webmail” message typed into the congressman’s website.

In the voice mail, he appears to have left behind his actual phone number, a federal criminal complaint said. And the webmail was sent in a way that allowed investigators to track an IP address to Mathur’s address, court records state.
The criminal complaint identified the congressman as being from Maryland but did not name which of the eight men it was. A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Maryland declined to identify the congressman, citing the office’s general policy of not identifying crime victims.

At 5:45?p.m. on Dec.?10, the congressman’s district office received a voice mail, which according to federal court records opened with an expletive and then stated: “If you even mess with my vote, I’m going to come, and I’ll slit your throat, and I’ll kill your family.” The message closed with: “You represent me, I’ll kill you.”

Schumer on Trump's call for $2K in direct payments: 'I'm in'

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is signaling support for President Trump's request that Congress revamp its $2.3 trillion coronavirus stimulus and government funding bill to include direct payments of $2,000 to Americans.

"I’m in," he tweeted early Wednesday in response to a post from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

"Whaddya say, Mitch?" Schumer asked, referring to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). "Let’s not get bogged down with ideological offsets and unrelated items and just DO THIS! The American people deserve it."

On Tuesday night, Trump called the bill, which passed both chambers of Congress this week and includes $600 in direct payments, "a disgrace," saying that amount was "not enough money" and complaining too little "is given to small businesses, and in particular restaurants, whose owners have suffered so grievously."

Senate Republicans have criticized the bill as too costly already, while progressive Democrats have said it does not go far enough in helping Americans struggling as a result of the pandemic.

Senior Trump Aides to Launch Think Tank

“Senior advisers to President Trump are preparing to launch a nonprofit group to promote the president’s policies once he leaves office, creating a landing spot for former Trump officials after the White House changes hands,” Politico reports.

“White House domestic policy adviser Brooke Rollins and National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow have been putting the organization together and are expected to be heavily involved once it gets off the ground. National Security adviser Robert O’Brien and former Energy Secretary Rick Perry are also among those likely to play roles.”
