The world will never see another drummer with his touch and style. Eric Clapton said he was his best drummer.

And he was a kind man. He wrote back to a silly fan who wrote him while he was at CMF.

RIP sweet brilliant drummer boy. Hope to hear you play in heaven some day.

When I sent him a letter while he was in CMF.

He took the time and effort to write back to a very silly fan.

I wrote that fans should have been calling HIM god, not Eric Clapton, because it was his drumming that really was what made the music so amazing.

That comment was what he was referencing in this letter.

RIP Jim. Thank you for the great music and for being so incredibly kind to this very silly nobody fan of yours.

Let me try again, maybe this will work.

Thank you to anyone who looks at this. Very grateful for any critiques.

I just keep playing with my soft pastels, trying to learn and get better.

So I sent a virtual hug to Robert Reich because I think he is awesome and fighting hard for all of us.

You must have such a big heart, to hold so much grief.

Grief steps in to fill the space created by love that can no longer be expressed.

For him, to honor his memory.

I did the best I could though.

I hope when he looks down from heaven he will see the outpouring of love and grief from all us fans and know what his music meant to all of us.

I think of him young and healthy now, maybe sailing in the “Mayan” or spending time with his Mom and brother, or hugging his former girlfriend Christine Hinton.

I think of him creating new music in heaven, because whether on earth or in heaven, he was always going to be all about that music.
