South Africa's lion hunting industry faces new restrictions as a result of the decision this week by the U.S. government to protect African lions under the Endangered Species Act, according to conservationists.
Under the new provisions, American hunters bringing home lion trophies will need a permit, which will only be issued if the hunt is part of a science-based conservation strategy that enhances the species in the wild, the Fish and Wildlife Service said.
The new restrictions will discourage American hunters from sport hunting lions in South Africa, Humane Society International said in a statement. The organization said 620 of the 719 hunted lion trophies brought into the U.S. in 2014 came from South Africa. More than half of those were from lions bred in captivity, it said.
Trophy hunters pay between $18,000 and $24,000 to kill a five-year-old male. An eight-year-old male with an impressive mane may cost up to $75,000, according to hunting professionals.

Trump's Medical Report Is More Insane Than His Campaign Somehow
Source: Daily Beast
Donald Trumps doctor released a medical report so silly that when we asked the American Medical Association about its language, their spokesman started to laugh.
Donald Trumps doctor appears to be just as bombastic as he is.
Its the only conclusion to be drawn from a hilariously bizarre letter that the moguls doctorHarold Bornsteinwrote about his yuuuugely terrific health. And the letter raises as many questions as it answers.
For example, he describes Trumps recent physical exam as show[ing] only positive results. While its clear he means to say everything was normal, the word positive is an odd use of the term in medicine. Rather, it typically means that some result or finding was presentand those findings arent always great news (think testing positive for a disease). The wording is clearly chosen more for rhetorical effect than clear medical communicationand that choice left some experts scratching their heads.

Source: Daily Mail UK
Since China's capital city Beijing issued its first ever air pollution red alert last week, sales of bottled Canadian fresh mountain air to Chinese customers have soared.
Two entrepreneurs from Alberta have been selling Vitality Air for just over a year, but over the last two weeks their sales to China have increased dramatically, reports The People's Daily Online.
The red alert over air pollution was issued by Beijing authorities on December 7, lasting three days, amid the second bout of bad air this month. During this time PM2.5 levels - tiny hazardous airborne particles - exceeded 900 micrograms per cubic meter.
Canisters of air are being sold for up to £42 each, depending on the size
