ANXIOUSLY awaiting my Swiss Army Knife replacement (clipped by airport security on 5/12)...

OK, so I haven't flown in D-E-C-A-D-E-S.

Parked in the "Economy" lot at McCarren Airport in Vegas.

Took the shuttle to my terminal.

Got in line for screening and realized I had not taken out my Swiss Army Knife, which is in my pants pocket 24/7 x 365.

"Do you want me to dispose of this, sir?"

MY ASS!

It was in PERFECT condition, if this fucker DID NOT just take it HOME, it went into the big bucket of stuff these bastards post and sell on eBay (my brother in law worked at San Francisco Int'l Airport, and yes, this is EXACTLY what happens to things they confiscate).

ANYWAY...the replacement...the "Spartan," pictured below, is on its way, due today or tomorrow.

Oh BABY...Don Cheadle is going to KILL as the star of the new Miles Davis biopic.

Don Cheadle has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the Miles Davis biopic that he's been working on for years. Cheadle will make his feature directorial debut with the film, titled Miles Ahead, in addition to co-writing it and starring as Davis.

Cheadle kicked off the IndieGogo campaign on June 3rd with a goal of $325,000. In the four days since it launched, he has raised $119,666 and has until July 10th to raise the rest. Perks for campaign donors associate producer credits, set visits to both Miles Ahead and Cheadle's Showtime series House of Lies, Miles Davis box sets and T-shirts.

In the video for the campaign, Cheadle talks about how Davis rejected the term "jazz" for his work and preferred to call it "social music," which Cheadle ties into his method of fundraising. "I think it's only befitting that the making of this movie be a social experience," he says. The video also shows Cheadle talking to Davis' son Erin David and nephew Vince Wilburn, recounting how when Miles Davis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, Wilburn and David were asked who would play Davis in a movie about his life, and they stunned Cheadle by naming him.

The film will focus on a brief period in Davis' life in the mid-1970s, when he returned to recording and performing music after a long absence battling drug addiction. Davis contemporary Herbie Hancock is working with Cheadle on the film, along with Robert Glasper. The film will also star Ewan McGregor as "an unreliable Rolling Stone reporter," according to Cheadle.

Darwin was RIGHT. We DID evolve from apes. Well, SOME of us. The Dave Champion Show. Enjoy!

GOOD LUCK making it past the opening credits. He compares himself to Thomas Payne and says the founding fathers would be PROUD to watch his show. I've met this guy. He comes across even worse in person.

My Colorado Springs "Garden of the Gods" photos (obligatory "WARNING: PIC HEAVY" message goes here)

Only had my cell phone on the trip, but, given that, I was pleased with the results. I am hoping to return soon...perhaps even relocate there as I have family close by. Next time I bring the REAL camera.

From Wikipedia: "Garden of the Gods is a public park located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, US. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971."

Kirk Cameron Says 'Fornicators And Adulterers' Bigger Problem Than Gay Marriage. USA! USA! USA! USA!

Kirk Cameron Says 'Fornicators And Adulterers' Bigger Problem Than Gay Marriage

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/05/kirk-cameron-gay-marriage_n_5267934.html

Beloved '80s sitcom star Kirk Cameron is once again making headlines for his controversial views on marriage, and this time he has some pointed advice for Christians.

In an interview with AL.com, Cameron said that Christians need to focus their energies on cleaning up their own acts, rather than making the fight against marriage equality their number one priority.

"When people get too focused on redefining marriage, you're distracted from the bigger problem -- fornicators and adulterers," Cameron stated. "If the people sitting in the pews are fornicators and adulterers, the church will destroy marriages much more quickly than those outside the church. When God's people mock marriage, God doesn't take that lightly."

Cameron has a long history of anti-gay sentiment and remains arguably one of the most vehemently outspoken anti-gay celebrities. The former "Growing Pains" star previously called the Grammys' same-sex marriage ceremony an "assault on the traditional family" and called same-sex attraction "unnatural" and "ultimately destructive."

MMMMM...that IS a TASTY burger! (What's your favorite?)

I think my personal FAVORITE burger of all time comes from The Burger Pit in San Jose, CA. I can no longer get it because I now live 650 miles away, but man, was it a TASTY burger. It was one of those "ground steak" deals, TOP quality beef that really tasted like BEEF. They served it on a lightly toasted French roll with slices of tomato, lettuce, red onion and pickle...all fresh, no slimy tomatoes or slimy bagged lettuce. I'd order it with an ice cold Corona and a baked potato and my friends, "THAT was good eatin'..."

SO...

...fast food, pub, burger joint, high-end restaurant...what is YOUR favorite burger?

At this point, there is NO room for anyone in my life who's not into Motörhead.

It's a litmus test, really.

You're into Motörhead, you are in the posse.

You're not, have a nice day.

I even named one of my CATS "Lemmy."

No remorse.

'MST3K' Creator Hints at Online Reboot

'MST3K' Creator Hints at Online Reboot
The snarky series is also set to return in rerun form this summer

Thanks to Mystery Science Theater 3000, laughing at terrible movies has become a pop-culture institution. Now, 15 years after its last cancellation, the series might be revived for a new generation of snarky critics with an "online incarnation." In Wired's recent MST3K oral history, creator and original host Joel Hodgson hints at a possible series update, which would "feature a fresh (and as-yet unannounced) host and cameos from many MST3K alumni."

"I've talked to a bunch of fans about their lives and what MST3K means to them," Hodgson says. "I'm overwhelmed by how people took to that show. It really affected them. I thought if enough people still love it, maybe we can bring it back."

The creator-host then explains why the show, with its gradually shifting cast, has always been "built to be refreshed with new people and new ideas."

"It's like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle as it applies to MST3K: If it doesn't change, it's not the same show. And fortunately for us, as long as there are movies, there are always going to be cheesy movies." (Brace yourself, Tommy Wiseau.)
