Wow. Corker just got real shitty with Blitzer.

Never saw the little runt act like that. I guess he didn't like some questions and the video Wolf ran of him calling out dotard's problems with telling the truth.

Public opposition to tax bill grows as vote approaches

Source: CNN

Opposition to the bill has grown 10 points since early November, and 55% now oppose it. Just 33% say they favor the GOP's proposals to reform the nation's tax code.

Two-thirds see the bill as doing more to benefit the wealthy than the middle class (66%, vs. 27% who say it'll do more to benefit the middle class) and almost four in 10 (37%) say that if the bill becomes law, their own family will be worse off. That's grown five points since early November. Just 21% say they'll be better off if the bill becomes law.

President Donald Trump, the bill's salesperson-in-chief, lands at an overall 35% approval rating in this poll, his worst mark yet in CNN polling by one point. Trump's approval ratings continue to be the lowest for any modern president at this point in his presidency. As of December of their first year in office, all first-time elected presidents back to Eisenhower have approval ratings of 49% or higher except for Trump.

35% Dotard approval rate? That's hard to understand.

Joe Manchin strongly argued Franken should stay and go thru EI.

He was just interviewed by Alisyn Camerota on CNN. Very good job, Senator.

Obama takes Mike Pence and the other pukes to school.

Just got my copy of "Obama: An Intimate Portrait". There's a photo of Obama leaving the stage with a look that says "How did you like that ass kicking, Mikey?" as he passes him on the way out of that den of liars. It's a classic photo if you know the background.

This is the event that faux cut away from, after they had advertised they'd carry the whole event, because Obama was simply destroying the morons. I watched this live on C-Span and will never forget it.

Mikey's "question" which was really a long political speech by the little ass hole is at the very beginning. The whole video is well worth the time though.

Republicans are joining a festival of corruption - E.J. Dionne Jr.

The tax bill the GOP is trying to foist on the country is not only an unfair and deficit-bloating hodgepodge written on the fly. It is also deeply corrupt. Every Republican who votes for this bill will be joining a festival of venality...

This legislation proves that Washington is, indeed, the “swamp” that President Trump described during the campaign. But instead of draining it, he and his partisan allies have jumped right in. Actually, they have polluted it further...

Ah, but the Republicans did want to respond to rich New Yorkers and Californians who were howling to their usual GOP benefactors, including Trump, about their lost SALT deductions.

So rather than offer general relief, the Republicans sliced the top income tax rate — for couples earning $600,000 or more — from the current 39.6 percent to 37 percent. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Tex.), the House Ways and Means Committee chairman, could not really explain why only the best-off got real help, arguing lamely that middle-income people got other benefits from the bill...

And imagine: The “Make America Great Again” crowd appears to have designed a corporate tax system that creates new incentives to “shift profits and operations overseas,” as former Obama administration economic adviser Gene B. Sperling argued in a careful analysis. Trump probably doesn’t even know this.

Key Officials Push Back Against Trump Campaigns Claim That A Federal Office Illegally Turned Over

Emails To Special Counsel

The letter also makes a specific claim about communication between the government and the campaign — that Richard Beckler, then the general counsel of the GSA, "acknowledged unequivocally to [the Trump campaign's] legal counsel" in a June 15 discussion that the Trump campaign "owned and controlled" emails, and that "any requests for the production of PTT [Presidential Transition Team] records would therefore be routed to legal counsel for [the Trump campaign]."

In a phone interview with BuzzFeed News on Saturday night, Loewentritt — whose LinkedIn represents that he has worked at the agency since 1972 — disputed the claims made in the letter sent by the Trump campaign.

"Beckler never made that commitment," he said of the claim that any requests for transition records would be routed to the Trump campaign's counsel.

Specifically, Loewentritt said, "in using our devices," transition team members were informed that materials "would not be held back in any law enforcement" actions.
