Clinton campaign responds to shocking revelations about Paul Manafort’s pro-Kremlin ties

" Clinton campaign press secretary Robby Mook issued a late-night statement on the bombshell in the recent New York Times detailing Donald Trump’s campaign chair Paul Manafort and his questionable dealings in Ukraine.

Mook notes that the comes just before Trump is scheduled to give a major foreign policy address Monday on what his strategy will be if he is elected as president.

“We have learned of more troubling connections between Donald Trump’s team and pro-Kremlin elements in Ukraine,” Mook said in the statement. “Given the pro-Putin policy stances adopted by Donald Trump and the recent Russian government hacking and disclosure of Democratic Party records, Donald Trump has a responsibility to disclose campaign chair Paul Manafort’s and all other campaign employees’ and advisers’ ties to Russian or pro-Kremlin entities, including whether any of Trump’s employees or advisers are currently representing and or being paid by them.”

RNC Chair Priebus rallies with Trump

&quot CNN) Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus introduced Donald Trump at a Friday afternoon rally, a show of unity with the GOP nominee as he struggles in the polls. Priebus talked up his party's nominee and slammed Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

"We're in a battle for freedom in this country. Donald Trump is going to help protect our country," Priebus told a boisterous Erie, Pennsylvania crowd. "Look at the choice we've got. Hillary Clinton has a problem with lying. She lied. She lied. And she lied over and over and over again."

Such appearances by a party chair are not unusual in a presidential campaign, but this one stands out in an election cycle with Trump lagging behind Clinton in a swath of polls, particularly in key electoral states. That's led to tension between the Trump campaign and RNC officials over strategies and tactics.

Trump: 'Fine' with trying US citizens in military courts

" (CNN) Donald Trump said in an interview Thursday that he would support trying US citizens suspected of terrorism in military tribunals -- a controversial proposal that would likely be challenged as unconstitutional.

The Republican presidential nominee told the Miami Herald that he doesn't "at all" like the idea of trying terrorist suspects in the civilian court system, even though US citizens are constitutionally entitled to due process. He added that he would be "fine" with trying US citizens in military tribunals at Guantánamo Bay, the US naval base that is also home to a military prison housing captured terror suspects.

Trump addressed the Guantánamo Bay detention center, climate change and the Zika virus in a wide-ranging interview with the Miami Herald.

" Former Rep. Gabby Giffords has a difficult time speaking, but not speaking out. Not when it comes to a politician who insinuates violence against another politician, as happened this week with Donald Trump

U.S. Sens. Jeff Flake and John McCain have no trouble speaking, but they remained mute over Trump’s crude remark about “Second Amendment people” maybe having a way to prevent a President Hillary Clinton from appointing judges.

In 2011 a gunman north of Tucson used a weapon with a high-capacity magazine to fire 31 shots in 15 seconds, killing six people and wounding 13, including Giffords.

McCain and Flake represent the state where that happened.

" Mitt Romney was excoriated during the 2012 presidential campaign for paying $4.9 million in federal income tax, or an average of just 14 percent of his adjusted gross income, in the two years for which he released returns.

No one should be surprised, though, if Donald J. Trump has paid far less — perhaps even zero federal income tax in some years. Indeed, that’s the expectation of numerous real estate and tax professionals I’ve interviewed in recent weeks.

Even with hundreds of millions in gross revenue from his vast real estate empire, “it’s both possible and legal that Donald Trump would pay little or no income tax,” said Len Green, an accountant and chairman of the Green Group, a tax and accounting advisory firm. Mr. Green is also a real estate investor, teaches at Babson College and is the author of the forthcoming “The Entrepreneur’s Playbook.”

At this point can there be any doubt whatsoever that there are things in the tax returns which would so thoroughly derail the Don the Con campaign that to carry on would actually be a money losing proposition for The Con? Even though he has no concern for the good of our country he isn't about to knowingly throw the money he has conned from so many away.
