Yawn.

So, the message is: "You have no right to complain about her if you watch her." Why does it bother you so much when anyone complains about anyone in the media (whether TV, radio, or print)? I occasionally get a whiff of Rush Limbaugh, and I'll comment how awful he is. Am I not entitled to complain simply because I listened to how awful he is? Same with Andrea... she's dreadful, one doesn't have to continually watch her to know this. One doesn't need to DVR her every television appearance to also be able to make critical comments about her.

It's just so sleazy and underhanded. It really reveals much about the politicians or organizations that would stoop to such tricks. As I said before, I'm sure it's all perfectly "legal" in the strictest sense of the word, but something that's technically legal isn't always necessarily ethical.

Usually the email/message reads something like "split $10 between XXX, YYY, ZZZ and one other group"! You have to go to the link or even a second link sometimes to find out who that "one other group" is.
Yep, well hidden.

Caveat Emptor ... let the buyer beware.

Other than for reasons of vanity or ego, I don't understand why so many cling to the word socialism.

Time for us to change the words we use to win over the majority of decent Americans. And "defund the police," and "socialism," aren't those words.
So true. So very true!

Other than for reasons of vanity or ego, I don't understand why so many cling to the word socialism. Regardless if it's being "misunderstood" or "incorrectly defined"... the fact of the matter is this: in the United States, that battle has already been LOST. The word has such negative connotations that it can never be retrieved. Any efforts to do so are wasted. (As the saying goes: If you're explaining, you're losing --or-- If you're defining and clarifying, you're losing.)

The only reason I can think of that anyone would want to hold on to that word is based on pride, rather than any real desire to accomplish anything meaningful or to make progress. I think that kind of stubbornness and short-sighted philosophy is one that goes hand-in-hand with the popular "all or nothing" and "no compromise" philosophies. Sadly, there are too many individuals who seem all to content to walk away with nothing because they can boast and puff-out their chests and proclaim that they "stood their ground".

All I'm trying to point out is that it's time to take a different approach. Attacking and smearing the Democratic party doesn't work. Preserving the status quo (literally) but refusing to compromise and find common ground and areas of mutual benefit... that just makes no sense. I've always said that PROGRESS (no matter how small) is always better than doing nothing, and always better than wasted effort.

In fact "progress" is the root word of "progressive"... I'll bet many people haven't even though of that when they reject incremental progress as being something "bad" or shameful... or something to be avoided at all costs.

Great OP. Thanks for starting the discussion. (Sadly, I think it will mostly fall on deaf ears.)

And they're all made out of ticky-tacky and they all look just the same...

... and the all sound just the same.
... and they all think just the same.
... and they all bleet just the same.

Even when they're silent and not wearing MAGA hats or t-shirts, I can still spot a MAGAT at 20 paces. I'm probably on-target about 90-95% of the time in my "first impression" of these idiots... just based on looks alone.

And it's not always the "People of Walmart" crowd that stand out to me. My super-powers exist into all economic strata.

You probably have the hidden ability to spot them too. There's just something about their look and attitude that reveals their putrid souls, even when they're silent.

Last chance... for just a taste, I suppose.

Bernie so wants to be near the White House.
Last chance... for just a taste, I suppose.

You know in past presidential elections, there's always speculation among pundits and "insiders" as to which individuals are being considered. And when those individuals are questioned, they're always humble. They express honor at the hint of being considered for a cabinet position... but then they always defer to President-Elect who's the one that makes that decision. Sometimes the rumored candidate will come right out and say that they think it's inappropriate to even speculate.

In my many (many) years, I have NEVER heard of any person actively LOBBYING for a cabinet position... and doing it in such a PUBLIC way. In my opinion it's a bit unseemly and unfitting. It's just not very dignified.

I would imagine that such things would be done privately and in-person... face to face, or by phone. Or through trusted and direct "back-channels" that are out of the public eye. The fact that this lobbying has been so public and so aggressive suggests to me that Biden has not opened-up any communication channels with Sanders... or maybe Biden is just politely ignoring him. Who knows?

It could be any one, any number, or none of those things. Time will tell. But my best guess is that things don't look good for Sanders being chosen to be on Biden's cabinet.

Joe is smart. Joe Biden is not going to choose him.

Joe knows how important it is to have a majority in the Senate.

Joe also knows that Bernie's agenda is NOT the Biden agenda. Joe needs cabinet members who will support and promote the things that the Biden Administration will focus on... rather than using a cabinet position as a platform to do-one's-own-thing in opposition to Biden.

Additionally (according to Jane Sanders) they have a frosty relationship with Biden. Things like that do not make for a good working relationship, nor an amicable social relationship. It's something that does not promote trust, bonding, honest and open discussion and exchange of ideas, etc. Joe probably wants cabinet members who respect him and who support his agenda and vision and plans.

My son and his husband describe Lindsey in many amusing ways...

... things that I couldn't get away with repeating here. I guess by virtue, they're "allowed" (or something). In any case, they often impersonate him with a sticky-sweet "Gone With the Wind" accent with flourishes and interjections that make it sound like it's fresh off the plantation and right off the movie-screen.

There's something satisfying about having an authoritative and recognized precise moment of victory...

There's something satisfying about having an authoritative and recognized precise moment of victory… especially when millions are eager to celebrate their joy and relief with each other.

I suppose that for some emotionaless "analytical types" they can be perfectly happy with "knowing what will eventually happen" and take comfort with the knowledge of how everything will assuredly play out in the end.

But others of us will get a great deal of satisfaction and delight from being able to hear our party's nominee CLAIM VICTORY for himself, and for OUR party, and for our nation and the world.

It will be a defining STARTING POINT where we can begin celebrating with others. It will be a moment to look back on and talk about. It's like the moment between midnight and the new year! (Compared to a group of disinterested people coming to the eventual conclusion over the course of a week that the new year had indeed happened a week previously.)

LET'S CELEBRATE!!! LET'S BREATHE A COLLECTIVE SIGH OF RELIEF!!
