Is this a good reason for President Biden to offer e.g. Sen. Collins a cabinet spot?
She would be replaced in the Senate by a Democratic governor with a Democrat, and I think she might actually accept.
Obviously that could have the potential to alter the Senate in our favor. Is there a second R senator from D. gov. state in case we need both seats after Georgia? Or a better choice than *gag* Collins?
Am I nuts? I have no clue where she would fit. Too bad we don't have a Dept. of Hypocrisy or Concern.
On Edit: Maine was just the first example that occurred to me. My essential point is that isn't giving up a cabinet post (or 2) in exchange for control of the Senate absolutely worth it. Anyway, I'm sure Moscow Mitch would promise to sic Puttie Poots on anyone who accepted, so likely a moot point. Sigh...
