Mayor Pete is too young and inexperienced

Not my belief. Not my argument. But you can read all about it here:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/128778689

Every candidate is going to have detractors. That will be Pete's Achilles' heel: "He can't make the leap from mayor of a smallish city to POTUS."

We knew we'd hear it and some of our fellow DUers are spouting it.

I'm confident Pete has the acuity, the sound judgment, the demeanor to be effective in the highest office in the land. And, just as importantly, I'm sure he'd surround himself with an outstanding team to provide guidance.

He's come this far. He's exceeded expectations by a country mile. And he's not done yet. Not by a long shot!

The Mueller Report: does America really care???

An interesting item just came up on #insidepolitics on CNN: Google search trends for yesterday (Thursday, April 18) show that the Mueller Report was the 19th most popular search topic.

The top 4 were: the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Good Friday and Jason Mamoa.

How sad is that?

Joey Votto just did something for the first time in his 13-season career...

He popped out to first base!

LOS ANGELES — A remarkable baseball streak ended Wednesday when innocuously popped out to first base.

The slugger somehow had made 6,827 plate appearances over 13 seasons with the Reds without ever popping out to first. He finally did it in Cincinnati's 3-2 loss at Dodger Stadium, fouling out to to end the eighth.

Votto had played 1,591 games in a career that began in late 2007 without ever popping up to first.

The six-time All-Star first baseman is a career .310 hitter, always showing strong plate discipline and rarely wasting at-bats. Votto had popped up only 88 previous times in his career, including only seven popups from 2010-18.

Sure enough, friggin Jason Kenney projected as next premier of Alberta

with a majority government. UGH!!!

CTV News is projecting that former federal cabinet minister Jason Kenney’s United Conservative Party has won a majority in Alberta’s provincial election, unseating Rachel Notley and ushering in a return to the centre-right for the province.

The epic collapse of the Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa tied an NHL record this season with 62 wins. They finished the year with 128 points. The next best team (the Boston Bruins) had 107.

And the Bolts' season is over as of tonight. Swept out of the opening round of the playoffs by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Gone.

Just. Like. That.

DUers have made Mayor Pete the #2 overall choice

Just 1% behind Kamala Harris.

It's pretty tight among the top four candidates, but it sure is promising to see Pete Buttigieg among them. He's come from out of nowhere and is now turning heads everywhere.

Long way to go, but the debates can't come soon enough!
