Pence had a soul (who knew?) at the end of the day

and did the right thing.

Mike Flynn (via his brother Charles Flynn) is a key figure IMO in all of this - what was his role in neutering DoD so that the response was late/weak to the insurrection.

Washington (CNN)The Army is now acknowledging that Lt. Gen. Charles Flynn, the brother of President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn, was in the room for one of the key January 6 phone calls in which DC government and US Capitol Police were asking for National Guard troops to quell the unfolding violence at the US Capitol.
The decision-making has come under scrutiny as city and Capitol Police officials have alleged that the Pentagon was slow to respond, while the Pentagon and Army maintain they never denied or delayed requests for the National Guard.

A former aide to the District of Columbia National Guard general who was in command during the 6 January insurrection has accused two top Army officers — including the brother of disgraced Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn — of lying to Congress in an attempt to blame DC national guard officials for delays in response to the worst attack on the Capitol since the 1814 Burning of Washington.
The accusations against General Charles Flynn, who served as the Army’s deputy chief of staff for operations on 6 January, and then-Army staff director Lieutenant General Walter Piatt, were laid out in a memorandum authored by Colonel Earl Matthews, who was the top military legal aide to Major General William Walker that day.

Bezos sucks, typical greedy dork.

Just blast him into space ('prime delivery' ha) and don't let him come back until he pays taxes and pays workers a fair wage.

+1. We need to fight dirty for the forseeable future

meaning we need to gerrymander as hard as we can to get every last seat, need to put laws on state and local levels that strongly criminalize any attempt to subvert elections and suppress votes, etc. Expand and pack the Supreme Court. Make DC and PR states.

Agree that while BIF and BBB are nice things to have, Biden was elected for existential reasons namely the threat Trump and Trumpism pose to democracy and many of the rights liberals have fought for over the past 50 years.

Agree, many people feel this way not just PoC.

Nicolle Wallace and her panel which includes several former Repubs say that voting rights are the 'four alarm fire' that Dems should be sounding on a daily basis and using every possible mechanism to force the issue.

Biden is president because black and brown voters stood on long lines in urban areas like Philly, Milwaukee, Detroit, Atlanta. Schumer is majority leader because black voters and Stacy Abrams helped win those two Senate seats in GA.

Suburban swing voters also voted for Biden due to fears of Trump and the threat the RW presents to democracy and rights more broadly such as voting rights, civil rights and women's rights/choice. Even though such voters typically lean center-right on economics they tend to lean left on social and structural issues.

Manchin is not an ideological centrist.

Bill Clinton would've never opposed dental coverage, and in fact tried to get Obamacare when it was called Hillarycare.

Manchin is also not ideologically what a conservative Democrat historically was - someone who was culturally conservative but would always support New Deal economics that would bolster the safety net for the middle class. Dental coverage is a basic need, not a luxury.

Manchin and Sinema are more ideologically like Susan Collins who is a moderate Republican.

That's why we need taxes on wealth and assets.

Income taxes aren't effective in reducing economic inequality, mainly because the rich don't work and don't have income on paper.

What's going on over at FOX?

C'mon now, at least try to be less transparent, makes it more fun.

You do know that FOX basically fed the Trump criminals info for 4 years? How 'bout them ethics? Lemon's ethical lapse (if one could call it that) is tiny in comparison.

ReidOut beats CNN in that timeslot.

20 The ReidOut with Joy Reid 1,154,000
27 Erin Burnett Outfront 720,000

CNN and MSNBC (and other networks) split the liberal audience - only reason FOX 'wins' in those slots. FOX also has a much less desirable audience (older, whiter more rural) as far as advertisers are concerned - compared to CNN and MSNBC.

White Lives Matter wing of American politics

that take a break from ironing their white robes to comment whenever topics like these come up.

The fact that Silverman singled out Reid as 'not doing straight news' when the 3 major cable networks in prime time all have opinion hosts after 4pm - tells you all you need to know.

Silverman has long been a racist, and is the classic entitled Karen who resents not being able to make jokes about non-whites like she used to. She only pretends to be liberal, has admitted as much that it is easier to 'get away' telling racist jokes if one is perceived as a liberal.

Silverman has always been a racist

and basically pretends to be liberal as a shield to make more offensive jokes.

But Fey is far from the only white woman whose career has operated this way. Sarah Silverman immediately comes to mind for her infamous “I hate chinks” bit on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2001 and how she, to this day, still struggles to take full responsibility for her blackface sketch from 2007 despite rebranding as an informed, progressive voice.
