This narrative was designed by the alt-left on social media to scapegoat Kamala.

She does not have 'superpowers' to do this, as others have noted, it would be overridden by the Senate, and then she (and Biden) would look like fools. Biden also ran on 'restoring normalcy' and going against the parlimentarian (who was appointed by Harry Reid and is well respected) just would look wrong.

And as noted, Manchin and Sinema would stall the bill until it was taken out. Manchin has been adamant that he won't vote on anything the parlimentarian disallowed, and if the parlimentarian had allowed it he would've only gone as high as $11/hr. Why get into this shit for $11 when we can (as Lawrence Odonnell who worked in the Senate noted) stuff it into a defense spending bill - same way we did to raise it to $7.75 back in 2009.

Manchin is a problem but he is in a deep red state, so it's difficult (but not impossible) to find a better conservative Dem to primary him. Sinema should be primaried as she's too conservative for a purple state. Somebody better like Rep. Ruben Gallego could defeat her in a primary and IMO easily win statewide.

So the game is on to take down Cuomo.

He's a nice man but also a tough politician who has often been underestimated.

Hopefully those coming after him don't cry about 'bullying' when he starts to punch back.

He's a good governor, and the crybabies couldn't even do a fraction of the job he's done in facing down the pandemic and the Trump admin.

Time to organize mass boycotts against seditionist states.

That is one lever that rarely discussed, and IMO effective, as big corps don't want to lose money or be associated with anti-democracy. Repubs can't afford to lose the support of business, and if states lose money due to sedition the residents will look to kick the seditionist politicians out of office.

Lawsuits against various entities - like the NAACP suit, the Dominion suit etc- can also be effective.

Basically there must be a price paid by those who seek to undermine democracy. We can't rely upon a right-wing Supreme Court or a McConnell obstructed Senate (don't see how we get any voting rights bills thru) alone to save us.

It's a threat to hold over Manchin's head, he's up for reelection in 2024.

Manchin's arrogance comes from the idea that 'nobody but me' can win as a Dem in 'deep red' WV.

But scratch below the surface and it's obvious that WV has a long history of electing Dems to the Senate (Byrd, Rockefeller) and really is a conservative-left state but votes Repub due to social issues. Give them a conservative Dem (who comes across as empathetic, unlike Manchin) like Jim Justice and he'll win easily IMO.

It would be better if Justice would run against Capito (R) at some point for the other seat, so there'd be two Dem Senators from the state.

But the idea is to let Manchin know he's not so special as he likes to think he is.

We need to put pressure on Manchin and pass the bill

in a straight party line vote, with our fabulous Kamala smiling as she gavels it in.

Biden won 81m votes on this agenda, it's what the people support, and it's time to dunk of these fuckers and show them who's boss.

February 24, 2021

Biden ran on a broad-based liberal agenda and won 81m votes.

Nobody voted for Manchin to control the agenda... this is why our system is so fucked up.

Time to send Kamala back into the state.. even the WV governor said he wants to 'go big' and supports Biden's stimulus as is (iirc).

We need to light stronger fires under the asses of these conservative Dems. Let the mayors, governors and residents of their states know that it is their senators standing in the way of desperately needed relief.

+1. MSNBC/CNN viewers don't care about this shit

and I don't think these networks 'get' this; we're political news people and like seeing our regular shows, especially with so much going on with the confirmation hearings etc.

Anytime a celebrity stubs their toe we get 24/7 coverage similar to the OJ stuff - it's the same reality show environment that led to Trump.

Did Kavanaugh have the 'experience' and temperament'

for a lifetime appointment? Was Trump even remotely 'transparent' or 'steady' to hold the most powerful leadership position in the world?

“The Director of OMB is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the federal budget and plays a significant role in any Administration’s fiscal and regulatory agenda. Congress has to be able to trust the OMB director to make countless decisions in an impartial manner, carrying out the letter of the law and congressional intent. Neera Tanden has neither the experience nor the temperament to lead this critical agency. Her past actions have demonstrated exactly the kind of animosity that President Biden has pledged to transcend.

“In addition, Ms. Tanden’s decision to delete more than a thousand tweets in the days before her nomination was announced raises concerns about her commitment to transparency. Should Congress need to review documents or actions taken by OMB, we must have confidence that the Director will be forthcoming.

“The OMB needs steady, experienced, responsive leadership. I will vote against confirming Ms. Tanden.”

— Sen. Susan Collins

What's really going on is white people holding an outspoken woman of color to different standards.

Tanden was 'mean' on Twitter to Bernie people, to Trump people and others - many of whom themselves are known for being 'mean' on Twitter but of course she's the one being taken to task for it.

There are political motivations to taking them down,

not just on the right but on the far-left who views TLP as 'bringing Republicans into the party and pushing us center'. IOW, the anti-TLP forces are fearful of TLP's effectiveness. Biden did better in the suburbs and with independents than Hillary did, with precisely the type of voter that TLP spent alot of time and effort targeting. Biden also did better with new and young voters who don't understand much about politics but do understand toughness and trolling skills.

Politics in this day and age are about winning social media wars and without that people view you as weak or absent from the conversation. TLP stepped up and were visible stars on TV and online - we all knew who they were and they were fearless in taking on the worst of the right wing. Schmidt and Wilson regularly got into it with Don Jr etc delivering serious body blows. They kept the morale of Dems high during the Trump years when everything seemed lost.

+1. This is politically dumb because voters want results.

Voters don't care about bipartanship per se, only results. Repubs know this and want to obstruct or trick conservative Dems into being 'bipartisan' - who Repubs will then run against as 'not producing results'.
