Tucker Carlson Is Tired of People Yelling "Fu*k You" At Him in Restaurants

"I can't really go to a lot of restaurants anymore because I get yelled at," he said on a National Review podcast released Monday. "I don't feel threatened, but having someone scream, 'Fu*k you!' at a restaurant, it just wrecks your meal."

Ballistics don't support AG Cameron's claim Breonna Taylor's boyfriend shot officer

Source: Courier Journal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky State Police ballistics report does not support state Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s assertion that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, shot a Louisville police officer the night she was killed.

Cameron told reporters Wednesday the investigation into Taylor’s March 13 death had ruled out “friendly fire” from ex-Louisville Metro Police officer Brett Hankison as the source of the shot that went through LMPD Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly’s thigh, prompting him and officer Myles Cosgrove to return fire, killing Taylor.

Cameron said Hankison had been eliminated as the shooter because the three officers were all carrying .40 caliber handguns, while Walker had a 9.

Steve Romines, one of Walker’s attorneys, said he had obtained a LMPD record showing Hankison had been issued a 9-mm weapon as well.

Emails show Rochester officials' attempts to conceal information about Daniel Prude's death

Source: USA Today

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In early June, as American cities reeled with angry protests over the death of George Floyd, police commanders in Rochester, New York, were trying hard to prevent the very similar death of Daniel Prude from going public.

Deputy Chief Mark Simmons picked up the urgent thread in an email to Chief La’Ron Singletary a few hours later.

"We certainly do not want people to misinterpret the officers’ actions and conflate this incident with any recent killings of unarmed black men by law enforcement nationally," Simmons wrote in an email. "That would simply be a false narrative, and could create animosity and potentially violent blow back in this community as a result."

Many of the documents touch on actions by leadership in the police department and suggest police actively worked to conceal what had happened.

City lawyers recommended that the video and supporting documents not be released to the public.

"I totally agree," Singletary emailed back minutes later.

Residents in Multnomah Countty (Oregon) are setting up armed checkpoints

‘Do not take action yourselves': Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office warns of illegal 'checkpoints'

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says several groups of citizens have created illegal checkpoints in Corbett amid a historic wildfire event.

Shortly after, some citizens living in rural areas of Multnomah County set up "checkpoints" and were "stopping cars." Deputies got reports the individuals who set up these roadblocks were armed and were checking the identification of passing drivers.

I’m gonna be completely honest... that was scary as hell. Before Justin walked over one of the men cocked his assault rifle at me. They were 3 large assault rifles and extremely confrontational. We’re dressed in normal clothing and we’re wearing our press credentials.

Deputies have contacted several groups of residents in Corbett who have set up checkpoints and are stopping cars. While we understand their intent is to keep the community safe, it is never legal to block a public roadway or force other citizens to stop.

A group of Danish musicians play terrible jazz at far-right rallies to drown them out

A group of musicians has come up with a creative way to drown out the hateful rhetoric of far-right Danish politician Rasmus Paludan. Protest group Free Jazz Mod Paludan (FJMP) follows Paludan around Denmark and plays terrible jazz music wherever he goes.

Paludan is the leader of the far-right political party Hard Line. In 2019 he was convicted of expressing racist views, and later sentenced to a three-month prison term. Paludan has repeatedly stated that he wishes to ban Islam in Denmark.

And although the party doesn't seem to be taken very seriously, Hard Line almost won a seat in parliament during the last Danish election. That's probably why FJMP decided to begin following Paludan around the country. Paludan is known for organizing far-right demonstrations in areas large migrant populations.

"This initiative fits that really well in that we simply try to make more noise than him. We just provoke Paludan as much as he provokes others. I want to make it very visible how destructive he is, and the louder we can play, the more attention we can draw to it. What he does is incredibly, incredibly evil."

FJMP has raised $10,000 All profits go to the charity Together WE PUSH, which "organizes help refugee families with children at the Danish deportation center Sjælsmark."

Homeland Security Was Destined to Become a Secret Police Force

“Homeland” is an anxious, combative word: it denotes a place under assault, in need of aggressive defense from shape-shifting dangers. The original proposal for the D.H.S. described the agency as “a new government structure to protect against invisible enemies that can strike with a wide variety of weapons”; one hypothetical example of an invisible enemy was “a non-citizen that intends to enter our nation and attack one of our chemical facilities.” The nation used to protect itself against other nations and their hostile military forces, but now it had to fear individuals. This is the premise on which secret police forces are built. Their stated purpose is to find danger where normal human activity appears to be taking place. The D.H.S. began with mobilizing against the foreign-born, via Immigration and Customs Enforcement (which replaced the Immigration and Naturalization Service). The logic of the secret police, however, dictates that it perpetually has to look in new places for threats.

As we learn more about what is happening in Portland—as footage of federal troops waging war on protesters floods social media, and as the President threatens to send his foot soldiers to other large cities—we are watching the perfect and perhaps inevitable combination of a domestic-security superagency and a President who rejects all mechanisms of accountability, including the Senate confirmation process. What we are also seeing is a perfect storm of fear: the legacy of fear cultivated in the wake of 9/11, and the fear that Trump campaigned on in 2016 and continues to campaign on now.
